A great novel, especially for a first novel by a young writer. I couldn't put it down and wait avidly for the next one. Nightchild, a Clans Novel takes you through both the darkness and light of war, vampires, and interpersonal relationships. Wonderfully done - Congratulations, J.A. Cummings.

I extremely loved this book. The way the author combined human and inhuman emotions was excellent. The only thing that I wish is that the author does a sequel. It was released on June of 1999 and I hope that the author decides to continue with the great book that was started. I would recommended anyone to get this book. When I got it, it was so interresting that I read it in two days. That has never happened with a book before!!!!

'Nightchild' was one of the most entertaining books I've read in a long time. It combined Romance, violence, incest, vampires, gypsies, suspense, drama, and mystery in one book. It was a captivating blend of reality and fantasy. Beautifully written, this novel seemed to take me through every emotion and has occupied my thoughts for the past many nights. A story of love and war, it traps you in a place that you never want to leave, with people that you wish you knew. I have to say it is definetly a great read that I'm sure to recommend to all of my friends.

One of the best books on vampires I've read in ages! Intrigue & involving characters make for an enjoyable reading experience. I look forward to the next in the series from this new author!

I heartily recommend Nightchild. I read it last year just before Gen Con and thoroughly enjoyed it. It has a different take on vampires and is nothing like the current rage of vampire romance/teenager books (I find nothing wrong with those btw, they just are not my style). I am thoroughly looking forward to reading her second book in the series, Sacrifice, this weekend.
