It's really a tragedy that the young composer of "Nightflyers" was murdered before he could see another of his scores released, but it is nice that Varese took the time to release it on CD. "Nightflyers" is all-synth in the Vangelis vein, with both some very lyrical passages and more dissonant passages. The main theme and other more lyrical portions of the CD are top-notch, though the action cues are a bit abrasive and dated. There are also some master issues, with a fair bit of warbling present, especially on the first cue--Varese must have been working from a damaged album master. Still, if you can get it at a good price, do so--and raise a glass to its composer whose career was cut so tragically short.

Nobody knows the movie.Nobody knows the music. That's a shame, cause the electronic score is really beautiful!
Okay,it's a b-movie and the soundtrack is cheap produced - but this score really good & a treasure for soundtrack-fans!
