A Kid's Review
This review is from: Nightmare on the 13th Floor [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This movie is no doubt one of the best mystery/horror movies ever made. It is a real television rarity and I appreciated the fact that it wasn't just about blood and gore. I recently viewed it with my aunt, and now she talks about it all of the time. 'Nightmare on the 13th Floor' revolves around Elaine Kalisher, a strong, determined young woman with hopes for her new article on the elegant Wessex Hotel. She is sent by her boss to write the article for a popular travel magazine, but then her article takes on a new subject... While riding the service elevator, she discovers a floor in between 12 and 14. It is illuminated by gas lamps. As she watches in terror, a man is murdered. But before she can do anything, he is dragged away, blood being stained into the carpet. However, after telling the hotel doctor about the murder, he doesn't believe her because there is no thirteenth floor. But Elaine must find out if she hallucinated it or what. So, with the help of arrogant Sargent Mathan, she and him go in search of the axe murderer and a thirteenth floor. Delightfully creepy and even scary at times, Nightmare on the 13th floor is one you must view...or else.

A TV rarity - it' s scary., August 22, 1999
This review is from: Nightmare on the 13th Floor [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I was pleasantly surprised by this eerie TV-movie; it managed to scare me. -This is a rarity on TV these days, ofcourse. It seemed like a mix between those early 80's slasher flicks, and the good old dark house genre. There's plenty of atmosphere, proving very clearly this is all-important in a horror movie. I'd even say it's worth its rediculously high price, but you'd probably still want to wait for a lower price.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Nightmare on the 13th Floor [VHS] (VHS Tape)
NIGHTMARE ON THE 13TH FLOOR is a great, television rarity. It managed to grab me and my mother through-out the entire time it was on. The acting is great, the sets are amazing and the suspense is hard on you! Walter Grauman is the director. Starring: Michele Greene, Louise Fletcher, James Brolin. A writer books into an old Victorian hotel. She is on the elevator when she is dropped off at the 13th floor. There, she witnesses a murder, goes unconcious and wakes up in front of staff. They tell her that she has dreamed all that has happened and that she will be okay. But when guests start to go missing, it's up to Elaine to prove that there is an existing 13th floor. I really guarantee that if you watch this film once, you'll want to watch it again. Really. One question, for all the Canadian peoples who reviewed this, where on earth did you manage to rent this film?
