Anyone else see this and think something's wrong?

I wish you could have covered this in a more sensitive manner as this murder turned my town upside down, we were on lock down for days and scared out of our minds.

Wow. Anyone else see this and think something's wrong? The way this
story is narrated completely mocks and minimizes the rape and murder of
a little girl. It seems they are attempting to make it
curiosity-peaking, but the narrator sounds as though he's describing
the haunted mansion at Disneyland. I sincerely hope not every episode
is narrated in this callous and cruel manner. If I was this little
girl's family, I would be outraged. Shame on you Discovery Channel!

I watched all of Episode 1 "Innocence Lost," although it was difficult.

The big problem: the inappropriate tone of the script and the narrator's delivery.

There may be true crime documentaries which can take a light, humorous or even mocking tone. But this was the rape and murder of an eight year old child!

The script was overloaded with wordplay and cute turns of phrase. The narrator's delivery verged on the smart-aleck. It was all very disturbing. Although the show did not specifically mock or explicitly show disrespect for the child victim, her family, or the law enforcement personnel on the case, its tone was inappropriate.

I don't think they needed to go overboard with a heavy tragic-sounding narrative, but this went too far into "crime light" for my comfort. I'm very sorry I purchased this show (and I paid for the whole season, my bad).

I grew up in Portage Indiana and was 15 years old at the time of Sarah's murder. Sarah's older brother Jason was a year below me in school and hung out with the same crowd of kids as me. I know the area where she was killed like the back of my hand. I don't even know where to begin, I was so angered by this episode. Not only was this poor little girl's murder made a mockery but also was my hometown. We were portrayed as a bunch of stupid rednecks! I wish you could have covered this in a more sensitive manner as this murder turned my town upside down, we were on lock down for days and scared out of our minds. The narrator did make it sound like a ride at Disney World. I mean come on, the first scene shows them frying corndogs in a deep fryer and talking about Portage Indiana residents love for fried food, so ridiculous! You all should feel ashamed of yourselves and the way this episode was portrayed. Shame on you Discovery, don't you think the Paulsens have gone through enough?!!!!!!!
