Inch by written inch, this book pulls you almost physically down the winding staircase to a very dark, very erotic world where everything you've ever feared and fantasized about is possible. The ultra-short story form is a perfect framework for this lush, sticky, vertiginous world of the illicit. From close dark alleyway to sterile corporate boardroom, there is an inevitable sense that whatever your darkest, most secret fantasy is, it is just about to be revealed on the next screen of this Kindle book.

I have to also say, the shortness of the pieces is a perfect marriage with the Kindle platform. Just don't read it where someone can see you blush.

This book frightened and aroused me simultaneously. It was the most unusual feeling I have ever experienced and one that I can't wait to enjoy again. I read the entire book in one day, for once I had entered the strange, sinister and completely sexual world Monocle had created I found that I couldn't escape from it, nor at any time did I wish to. This is a great read for fans of submission fantasies, bondage, Sci fi, and the darker side of erotica.

This had the potential for being a really good "Dark Erotic" compellation book. The author had some really unusual ideas and they were really erotic. The problem I had with this book is that the author would put the idea out there but would not follow through with the results. Ex. - the author would tell a sensual story and then it would end like "and then he entered me" - and that's the end of that story. Then we would start another story - you would be excited and it would end about the same way. It reminds me of reading an erotic sexual scene and you would read the lovers lead up to the mind numbing sex - and then fade out. This would be a great book if she would finish each story. It's like having hot sex and not being able to climax. I would give it a 5 for original stories but give it a 1 for the let down of it being only ½ stories. So I will go with a 3.

Side note: I actually found a "Dark Erotic" novel that tells the whole story and leaving you feeling very satisfied! I did a review on it right after this one if you look at my profile page.
