This is another great book by Dorothy Garlock! From the minute Rowe meets Katy he knows that they were meant to be together. Katy however distrusts all men and will not even consider the idea of marrying.

The story follows Rowe's (sometimes hilarious) attempts to court Katy. As in all great Garlock books, there are several interesting side stories, including one involving Katy's sister and niece. Definitly recommended!

this was my 3rd book by dorothy Garlock, and I did enjoy it, but not as much as I enjoyed the other 3. Mostly cause I found the fighting between Katy and Garrick rather annoying half way thru the book, yes she tried not to like him but enough was enough. About 3/4 of the book over and thats when the action started with his half brother and everything, so 3/4 of the book was constant argueing and rather pointless writing.

It is a good book dont get me wrong but its not the best, I enjoyed the listening sky much more then this one

Another excellent Garlock book!! Rowe and Katy are a charming combination, as are Mary and Hank.

In the hard times of the frontier era, what would happen to two women and a little girl that are abandoned in a town, when all the treasure-seeking gold miners desert in search of more riches? With only a small derringer, how can the women protect themselves? They won't be able to stay in the abandoned town forever, and they are sure to face problems trying to get to another town.

When the mysterious bearded stranger comes into the abandoned town, along with his dog, the girls are not sure what to think of him at first. The stranger, Rowe, bought the town, with plans to bring it back to life... and a mysterious connection with Katy, knocks him off his feet.

When some drifters come into town, and Rowe witnesses them murder one of their riders, it's up to him to protect the women. From this moment on, Ms. Garlock creates one hurdle after another for these characters, and they get closer and closer as they overcome each and every one of them.

If you read Ms. Garlock's story, Midnight Blue, then you'll be pleased to read about the appearance of Pack and Mara Shannon Gallagher, and get an update on their lives. Also from Midnight Blue, is a short appearance of Mara Shannon's villain cousin, Cullen McCall. Nevertheless, if you haven't read Midnight Blue, you won't be missing anything, as Ms. Garlock provided everything you needed to know about these people, for the short appearance they made in this book.

This is the 5th Dorothy Garlock book that I have read, and this is by far my favorite. Katy and Rowe will capture your hearts. True love, soul mates, and pure passion envelopes these characters. You won't want to put it down. This is a love story of a lifetime.

While most books tell about a couple's courtship and ends when they get together, this one goes on to show the unfaultering commitment, passion and love between 2 people as they deal with the day to day drama of life, showing that a good book can be written without using the soap opera scenario. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance!! This was the first book of Dorothy Garlock's that I read. Since then I have read them all! She shows a depth to her characters that is rare and I enjoy every book she has wrote, and Nightrose is my still favorite!!!

Actually, I rated this book 3and l/2 stars. I usually love Garlock's books, but I just didn't think this was one of her best. It is a good read, an okay book, nothing special. Katy was so obnoxious to Rowe, I don't know why he stayed around her. Then all of a sudden, she decides to marry him. I read a lot of books and may be more critical than most. Garlock is a very good author. I noticed she has been compared to Louis L'Amour but I couldn't do that. I will continue to buy and read her books because many are great.

Garrick Rowe believes in reincarnation and has been waiting for Katy Burns his entire life. She thinks he is crazy. His tactics are self-serving, and his attitude is arrogant. Still, the man's words and ideas intrigue her. His beliefs fascinate her. Garrick Rowe believes Katy Burns will remain in this godforsaken frontier, she will help him build his town, and then she will fight to keep it prosperous. Yes, Garrick Rowe intrigues and fascinates Katy Burns, but she still thinks he is a lunatic - an attractive, forceful lunatic.

Garrick Rowe wanted to shake Katy Burns, but not nearly as much as this reader. Rowe found Katy delightful, stubborn, and ornery; this reader found her selfish and unpleasant. The idea that the heroine had enough grit and spirit to cover a dozen women grew tiresome. However, that tiresome distinction was not nearly as bad as the sticky, syrupy, love-feast that eventually occurred. So, why didn't this reader bail out? Because Ms. Garlock elected to run some very good sub-stories and these provocative secondary stories are what saved NIGHTROSE from damnation.

Dorothy Garlock remains a favorite author governed by another remarkable trait: as a writer, Garlock never makes her reader feel anxiety. This gifted writer generally solves all troubling adventures promptly. Such a writing technique may seem unimportant, but such a writing technique keeps Dorothy Garlock on my preferred author list.

I liked this audio cassette recording of Dorothy Garlock's Nightrose even though it was abridged and very short I really enjoyed listening to this romance story of Katy Burns and Garrick Rowe but I just didn't find this to be a keeper!

I'm a Dorothy Garlock-book fan.

Seller was prompt and the book was in almost new condition.
