Night's Awakening was a fast, sexy & addictive read. Although this is the second installment of the series, it can be a stand-alone read. However, I do recommend reading the previous installment to get a better in-depth background of these sexy dragon shifters! ;)

While I enjoyed the first installment Dark Craving, I loved Night's Awakening. In this second installment, the reader is thrust back into the world of these sexy dragon shifters: Guy, Rhys, Con, and Banan---> all yummy! And of course the author throws in a human female to make the story more interesting which it definitely is.

Human female Elena agreed to go on a caving expedition with a boss only to be thrust into a world that she never knew existed. When the caving expedition goes terribly wrong, she is saved by these Dragon King Warriors & finds herself falling deeply for Guy in the process. Of course, the feelings are mutual between Elena & Guy. I loved them as a couple. The sexual tension was sizzling; their romance was sexy, sweet, & tender.

Overall, Night's Awakening was great read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading every minute of this story & cannot wait to see what's in store for Banan in Dawn's Desire!

This series seems to really get better and more interesting as it goes on. This may only be novella length, but Ms. Grant manages to pack a lot into a few pages.

When Elena Griffin, a gem expert; gets hurt will caving on private property, she is found and rescued by Guy. Unbeknownst to her he is King of the Red dragons. Soon sparks are flying and secrets are being spilled. After all Guy is an immortal dragon and Elena only human. But love finds them. Now the King of the Kings, Constantine realizes that someone else knows about them, and Elena will be asked to help them.

Remember that this is a novella and only comes in at 107 pages, but even with only that amount of pages there is a lot of action packed in and hot sexy hi-jinks going on. There is good character and plot building and the author didn't make the mistake with this novella that she did with the last one. She did NOT become overly-repetitious with her back story. There is only enough back-story to freshen your memory or to make it simple if you start with this book first instead of Dark Craving which is the first in this trilogy.

The editing seemed much better with this book than it was in the first one.

Frankly I'm a bit miffed that this will only be a trilogy, I do so want to know what happens to all the dragons, especially Constantine. I do hope the author will pick up this series and put the rest into full length novels.

While I think this effort was an improvement over book 1, I still don't think it's a 5-star read. It's too short to develop the characters, taking an average of 40 minutes to read it. I liked Guy and Elena, but I still feel like the romance is missing something. There just isn't much build up. The first time the characters are together, BAM. I'd like to see a bit more tension, something. I think this series has potential, and I keep hoping the books continue to improve. I'd actually like to see a full-length novel, maybe we could get more character development, a bit more romance, not just immediate sex.
