This review is from: The Nights Of The Long Knives (Mass Market Paperback)
I thought this book was very boring and lacking in action. I know the author claims he was a party member and in the Wermacht, but I cannot get into his books, even Night of the Generals. Not enough action or anything else of substance to keep my interest.

An Amazing Book That Is Invaluable!,

Why this great book has not been made into a Movie is beyond me. The author's "The Night of the Generals" made it
to the big screen. However this book is one of the best historical novels that I have ever read about Hitler's Germany. It is not only well-written, intriguing, and spell-binding, but also gives alot of insight into the fanaticism of the SS officers of the Third Reich. I wish more people could read this book as an example of what could happen in America if the right-wing took complete control and then, blacks, Mexicans, and gays would follow the same tradegy as the Holocust. Yes, it could happen here and this book gives that possibility as much credence as Arthur Miller's Crucile did to warn against McCarthyism in the 1950's. |
