"Nightwalker" by Gino Vannelli is an album with a lot of syncopated rhythms and funk. Tracks like "Seek and You Will Find," "Santa Rosa," "Nightwalker," and "I Believe" are really interesting. If Gino would only get back into the groove again. His last two jazz albums are nice, but they put me to sleep. I enjoyed his music more when it was up-tempo and got people moving, like with "People Gotta Move" on his Powerful People album. That is how he started, energetic, but I guess in his older age he is mellowing out, but I'm not. Take care, Gino, and let's hear something with LIFE. John R. in Dallas

Love this album. I have the album and it is just great. Gino is like no other performer. My only regret is that I have never seen him in person. He has a wonderful, rich and beautiful voice and his songs are powerful and never commercial. Whenever I play a song of his from this one for someone that doesn't know of him they all like "Stay With Me" which has an urgent, rock feel to it. His emotional delivery and unique choice of words are great. I love this one, not only for the hit "Living Inside Myself" which is a classic, but "Santa Rosa" which is so fun to sing along to. This one, is very very good. He's the best.

Gino Vanelli and his brothers Joe and Ross are some of the finest musicians I've ever heard. Their music goes deep down in my soul and leaves me wanting more. I do believe "Powerful People" (The album) was their best. "Nightwalker" brings back vivid memories of almost being fired when I worked for 100,000 watt FM rock station in Cape Canaveral, Florida when the album was released. As music director, I chose "Living Inside Myself" to be put on the play list. A new station consultant, however, disagreed with that decision and had the record pulled, accusing me of programming "New Music" (How else does it get to be "Old Music?"). Anyway, now I play whatever I want whenever I want and Gino and his friends are high on my own personal playlist. I like the album, but none of them compare to "Powerful People".

I just purchased "These Are the Days" and "Slow Love" (my second copy). I have copies of "Brother to Brother" and "Yonder Tree" (AMAZING ALBUM! I am about to order another copy.) I have all of his albums since "Brother to Brother". I tell everyone I know about Gino.

I just love quality music, production, lyric and music composition and Gino and his brother Joe have always done all of this superbly.

I am hoping and praying that I can see him live one day. This album is great. I noticed that no one mentioned Jimmy Haslip from the YellowJackets on bass. He has been on a lot of Gino tunes and of course does beautifully on this one. One of the reasons I love Gino's music. The best musicians always. I am a mediocre musician, but am inspired to be better because of him! Get ALL of his stuff!

Looking for a quick-fix for Gino Vannelli Sounds ? Then look no further ! If you especially like the pop-oriented side of this artist than "Nightwalker" is the release for you. This LP provides the type of music that most people associate with Gino-smooth vocals, love-song lyrics, catchy beats and a bit of funk thrown in just to make it different (from all of the other top 20 performers of the time). Best track is "Put the Weight on my Shoulders" (but I have spectacular memories associated with the song,"Sally"!!)

It's good for getting in the mood ...for easy listening, sex, or whatever

I have been searching for this CD for years, no lie! No one had it! I was so excited when I found it on your web site. Since then I've purchased several CDs here and I'm very satisfied with the prices and the service. I will purchase all of my CDs here. Thanks!

This disc doesn't have as many great songs as "Brother to Brother", but its consistently good and upbeat. I believe (no pun intended) that the reviewer looking for "into the night" might actually be looking for "Fly into this night" which is on the new Ultimate Collection or the original "Gist of the Gemini".
