NIGHTWATCH just won 1st place in the Carol Awards from American Christian Fiction Writers!

About the Author

There are two authors named Valerie Hansen. This one writes Christian fiction only. If you get the wrong Amazon author page you will see a woman with short dark hair instead of a grinning blond. I'm the blond (well, light brown, anyway) check out valeriehansen.com

More About the Author

By now you have probably discovered that there are two - or three - of me. Well, not really. I'm the Valerie Hansen who writes Christian Romance, Suspense and Historical fiction. This is my maiden name and much easier to spell and remember than my married name. I've been published since the 1980s and have over 50 books to my credit, most of which were written as Valerie Hansen. You can visit my website www.ValerieHansen.com to read excerpts and will find virtually all of my books still available through Amazon.com. AND NOW ALSO MANY ON KINDLE - INCLUDING ONE I HAVE JUST REISSUED ON MY OWN! WAGES OF SIN is longer and grittier than my usual Love Inspired titles. Good thing it's on Kindle of you might have trouble holding up all the pages. :)

I'm thrilled that having my work on Kindle allows so many of my loyal readers to continue to find my books even after they're out of print.

I don't have a blog right now but do participate as a guest on others. Since I'm still working to complete the contract to write 7 more books for Love Inspired as well as an additional 8th, I hardly have time to breathe, let along blog! (I have just finished the 5th of the 8. Whew!)

(I can always find time for chocolate, though)

I've tried to add the awards each of my books has won to their individual listings but it's a really big job. Here's the whole list -- so far.

As a long time Valerie Hansen reader I look forward to each new book and am never disappointed. Here is another winner.

Each character is well drawn. The children are especially appealing with their actions and reactions accurately age specific. The romance feels real with her humor balancing his serious mind set. The ending works but leaves me wishing I could follow this little family as the children grow up.

Also, the book taught me about the volunteers who protect children caught in a troubled life situation.

A page turner with heart and a good dash of humor -- who could ask for more?

This is the first book of Valeries that I have read but it won't be the last. It was a clean romance, mystery and suspence with a lot of heroes in it.
Mitch is a firefighter that takes on to much blame when he can't save everyone. Their was a loud explosion of a business and a house. They were able to save the three children but not the parents.
Jill is a foster parent. She was in foster care as a child. Her husband died in a accident right after moving to a farm in a new area. Mitch feels blame for not saving him. Mitch and Jill became friends because Mitch helped her out at the farm.
Someone set the bomb and murdered the parents, kidnapped the littlest child. Jill and Mitch are trying to protect the boys and get the baby back.
I really liked the characters, the children especially Tim 7 year old who was trying to protect and find his sister. So many wanted to help and protect the children. It is a book that I did not put down.
I was given this ebook in exchange of honest review.

I'm not a real fan of romance fiction but this Christian mystery romance is a couple of steps above the normal romance story. The characters were interesting and well developed. The mystery established clues that kept me guessing till the conclusion. The Christian emphasis was excellent but not preachy. The addition of foster parenting and CASA ( Court Appointed Special Advocate---volunteers appointed by a judge to help abused, neglected, and needy kids) was an added interest.

A fire caused by a bomb made three children instant orphans,
and this was soon complicated by the kidnapping of one of the children. The foster mom and firefighter friend of the children find themselves set on a mission to find out WHY, and to try and help these children recover from everything with love.

Excellent first book in a continuing series!
