Another great Dixon collection, March 3, 2006
This review is from: Nightwing Vol 6 : Big Guns (Paperback)
Nightwing is a great character - especially when used properly. I am writing this review in March 2006... Fans of the Dick Grayson character have suffered through inconsistent writing as of late. Reading "Big Guns" and any of the Dixon run on the character makes me appreciate the character more.
If you want to read about a guy who grew up in the superhero business and loves fighting crime and trying to make a difference read this TPB.
If you want to read a somewhat realistic comic character (well for DC anyway) - read this TPB.
I suggest reading the whole Dixon run if you can - it is certainly worth it.

love it, December 8, 2005

i'm going to have to thoroughly disagree with the previous reviewers of this title.
in nightwing, under the direction of chuck dixon, and even in the soon to be ended run of devin grayson, i find a thoroughly enjoyable comic experience.
mr. dixon has succeeded in creating a new world outside of gotham for nightwing, complete with a new set of rogues.
batman's villains have become push-overs. the villains mr. dixon introduces us to are vicious and interesting.
although the training and methods of batman are deeply ingrained in nightwing, he's not content. he's looking for a better way than living in the shadows. this drives him to personal growth, and new situations for our enjoyment.
many, many kudos to dc for their recent work. i appreciate their efforts to form a cohesive universe, and it's obvious they've worked very hard to create an effusive feeling of anxiousness throughout all of their titles.
most importantly, i thank them for having this nightwing title, my fave over in dc land.

1 star? More like 5, November 25, 2007
This review is from: Nightwing Vol 6 : Big Guns (Paperback)
I loved this graphic novel. The reviewer who gave it 1 star must have an agenda of some kind because this is another fine book. The story flows nicely from start to finish as Dick Grayson starts to make his presence known on the Bludhaven Police Force. An interesting new vigilante in Kate Riordan is introduced as Nightwing follows the trail of murders of ex-police. The continuing story of Torque takes a dramatic turn as well as "nite-wing". All in all, a very enjoyable and vastly underrated book. Nightwing writer Chuck Dixon has done a great job with this character and this book is no exception.
