Willow Evans has always been attached to Beaches, her Grandmother's house on Cape Cod. Even as a little girl the charming cottage was a paradise and "Willie" was left to imagine a pirate playmate roaming the beaches of the Cape Cod house along side her travels. Left as an inheritance Willow intends to keep her grandmother's house intact and live there as she always dreamed. But Doctor Jonathan Raven has other plans. He wants that house. There is something within that house that will allow him to become whole again. He is a nightwalker, a drinker of blood, and he needs his "shade"/soul who was ripped from him centuries ago and who now wanders the house Willow so lovingly protects. He needs to perform the ritual that will return him to the Human race... But his shade is confused. As a "shade" Johnny has roamed Beaches for years, returning there with no inclination of who he was or how he became the way he is. He is terrified of the man who looks like him but is not him but he does not know why. He has been watching over Willow and until now, has not been noticed by her as he can only been seen in mirrors... A shame this was not published through a bigger company. It did not deserve to die a month after its release. A terrific read. No one who likes Vampire tales will want to pass up the opportunity to find this book and read it. It was well written and has a terrific plot. ISBN- 0-373-25642-6

this is a fantasy story involving a vampire and his ghost (one half of the vampire's soul).
i will describe a little bit about this story and then say what i think of it.

this story starts out in 1878 ,Egypt, and men are excavating ruins and one man,Jonathan
Raven is attacked by an ancient Egyptian vampire and Jonathan SPLITS into TWO beings:
a dead vampire and a ghost (shade) like person who is the other half. i do not recall where the vampire
half went to but,the ghost part went back to Massachusetts to his family home..........................

fast forward to the year 1995 and the lonely female in this story is Willow and she falls in love with
the ghost (Johnny) and is wary but, attracted to Dr, Jonathan Raven(the vampire)....the story
continues and without me explaining every detail,Willow helps the ghost and vampire "reunite"
as,Johnathan comes back to life !

here is what i thought. the story is an interesting fantasy:vampires/ghosts,etc and of course they are
handsomely HOT !!!---they have to be or we will not read it. i did find the author's writing style to be a bit
confusing. the narrative was such that i had to think (...wait,this is WHO and they are WHERE ???) or to
say it in a different way,the writing was choppy. one minute Willow was here. then in the next sentence,
Willow would be somewhere else talking to her cat. it could be just the author's writing style but,i have seen
better writing where, i know every second who, where, what and why. i will give this four stars for it's entertainment
value and unusual story line.

A book not to be missed if you enjoy vampires. Lynn Michaels adds refreshing new ideas to a tried and true idea. Fall in love with Raven, a man who can be reunited with his soul, Johnny, with the help of the woman they both love, Willow. Fast paced, a real page turner!

Love this author. Read many of her books and never felt like I read the same book twice. She does a great job of picking new material to write about.

I really enjoyed the twist in this book. The plot was great and suspenseful .
