Great for toothpick arms!,
By Ellen (NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nike AC1126 Plus Sport Armband for iPod Nano Black/Red (Electronics)
I went through about 4 armbands before finding this one. All of the armbands I had purchased previously claimed they would fit my twiggy runner's arms. While most of them did fit my arm initially, after about 20 strides they rode down my arm and wound up dangling around my elbow.
This is the only armband I've found so far that will stay put on my arm even at a full-out sprint. It's composed of polyester, spandex, nylon and velcro instead of neoprene and velcro. The stretchiness provides a snug fit, and it's lightweight to boot. I should add that I don't even have an iPod Nano. I own a different mp3 player, but it fits inside the armband just fine. I think that this would work for any player that's about the size of the Nano or smaller. Some of the controls obviously won't be in the exact same place as they are on the Nano, but for me that's no big deal.

I have used this version for a few months. It's makes it hard to use the Nike+ feature, because you can't see the screen. Mine stretched out quickly, from multiple times pulling my iPod in and out to start and stop the program. There are better models out there. Nike has tried to remedy the problem by putting out one with screen, to see the nano's screen and work it easier. I replaced mine with a Marware wrist holder for my iPod, with a space for the chip. I like it much better.

Needs view window,
This review is from: Nike AC1126 Plus Sport Armband for iPod Nano Black/Red (Electronics)
I like everything about it except the lack of a window. It is comfortable to wear on runs and doesn't slip but if you like to look at your screen or playlists, you are out of luck with this armband. I look at my playlists at the beginning of my runs and even change it up on long runs and it is too difficult without a window...so I cut one. Looks bad but is functional. I suggest waiting for the window version...it has to be coming soon.

I've had a 1gen nano for a while now and have used this arm band. I don't mind not having a window, don't have time to look when I am running anyway. Rarely have trouble with the wheel through the material either.
I recently bought the nike+ and a 5th gen ipod nano. I was excited to see this arm band would work with the nike+ sensor (I didn't know about nike+ back when I had my first ipod). So loaded up the new ipod, attached the sensor, slid it into the pocket and went to plug in my headphones and to my dismay ipod switched the side the headphone plug is on - therefore this arm band will not work with my nike+ and 5th gen ipod. I don't blame the arm band - I blame Apple but just a heads up

Better products out there,
This review is from: Nike AC1126 Plus Sport Armband for iPod Nano Black/Red (Electronics)
This is a comfortable armband once you get it on. It's not an easy one-handed operation since it doesn't have the reverse direction bracket, therefore you have to hold it and Velcro it on at the same time. Also, although I knew I wouldn't be able to see the screen while working out, it does make it difficult to set up for the Nike+iPod program, which makes the timer option of the Nike+iPod program useless. It's difficult to lock as well. I switch back to my other generic armband unless I'm using the Nike+iPod feature, then I have to use this one.

Best Ipod Nano 3rd/4th/5th Generation Nike Armbands,

This older model Nike Armband works for 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation Ipod Nano's and is by far (for runners) the best of all Nike has created, exceeding the 5th generations style bands. I'm a distance runner, so once you put the armband on, you essentially go and don't stop to adjust the tunes. The newer style armbands are quite simply, uncomfortable. They cinch around the arm to the point of feeling like it is pinching. The previous 4th generation bands had a clear plastic window which is destroyed after a few washes, allowing your nano to basically hang out. The older style works flawlessly. After about 6 months of washing 5-6 times/week (I wash it after every run) it gets a little flimsy, the stiff material under the velcro gets a little contorted, but bang for the buck, this one blows away all the others.I can see if you are a gym rat that likes to change your tunes frequently, or uses the radio to tune to a t.v. channel at the gym how the lack of a clear window could be a problem, but if you're the type of person who sets the nano and doesn't change it during the workout, stick with this one.Nike AC1126 Plus Sport Armband for iPod Nano Black/Red

It does what its supposed to do. It holds your ipod as you run. I dont worry about not being able to adjust anything as i am to busy enjoying my run. I pop it in place, press play and wrap on my arm and do my thing. perfect for the price.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a clear plastic window so that you can see the info screen of the IPOD! It is more durable than the after market armband and it also looks better but as far as using it, the aftermarket one is so much better solely because you don't have to take the Ipod out of the band every time you need to see the screen. Guess that is why the price was so incredible.
