I just bought the Nike Fuel band (white ice) a few days ago from my local Apple Store. So far, I really like it. Before I bought it, I was debating between the Jawbone UP and the FitBit as well, however I eventually narrowed it down to the Jawbone UP and the Nike Fuel band because I figured I would lose the FitBit too easily.

What made me hesitate between Nike and Jawbone?
-Jawbone had sleep and food tracking
-Social aspect of the Jawbone. None of my friends have Nike Fuelbands so there's really no social aspect with the Nike Fuelband.

What made me decide to get Nike?
-LED display
-Wireless Syncing

The design was a big part for me. If I'm going to wear something on my wrist, I want it to look good, however, this is all personal preference. The one thing I didn't like was the color. In the pictures, the white ice looked really bright white, however, in reality it's dull and yellowish. Plus, the lines of the LED bug me a bit. I would've went with the solid black color, but I thought it looked too masculine for me. Hopefully in the future Nike will make a solid white color or just something more suited for women.

So far I really like the Fuelband. It makes exercising more fun than a chore. However, Nike will definitely need to add some more features onto the fuelband, such as sleep tracking (I don't really care for food tracking). If the Jawbone UP added wireless syncing, a display, or had a better design (any one of these), then I would've went with the Jawbone UP without a doubt and I'm sure many other people would have too. It's somewhat embarrassing when people ask what the fuelband does and you can only respond with "well...

I have an extra appendage, called the iphone. The phone goes with me everywhere, and ties into many aspects of my work life, and now, my slow attempts to get exercise. Enter the Nike Fuelband.
I love this gadget. Despite complaints I've read about rusty screws, faulty firmware updates and so on. I haven't had any trouble with it in the first month. Should trouble arise, I'll post an update.
EVERYONE asks about it. And really, one of my favorite things about it is the design. The disappearing LED display is very stylish, very modern. And, this is the first thing in a very long time to motivate me to really move. As a computer consultant, I don't get nearly enough exercise - something my wife harps on all the time.
The Fuelband however has sparked real motivation. I've signed up with Runkeeper, purchased a wifi-enabled scale, installed the LoseIt! App, and networked everything together to track my lazy, over-eating self.
The result is I move more. I walk more. I think twice before I have a snack, and generally pay more attention to what I eat and drink. And, as others have noted, it's a stylish reminder on my wrist to take better care of myself. So I'm into it. I think I also have more reasonable expectations.
One feature I would like is to have the time function come up first, not last. I love this as my watch.
As a tech by profession, I cannot bring myself to wear this in the shower. Perhaps that's why I don't have rust issues or firmware issues. I don't know. All I can say is it syncs flawlessly with my iphone and my Mac. Love it.
For the record, I did not buy the Fuelband here. Nike.con was cheaper (which I found odd). However, I'm such an avid amazon fan, I like to write reviews here when I really like or dislike something I've purchased. Many reviewers here have helped me with info on things I was interested in, so I feel it only fair that I give back.

I had a NIke+ FuelBand for about six months. I had to replace the band four seperate times. Everytime they did a firmware update, which was quite often, the band would not function. They would send me another one and then the same thing would happen. The whole point of the band was to make a streak and hit your goal day after day. This made it impossible because the band was always being shipped back and forth.

Secondly, the screws inside of the band rust very easily - cheap metal, not stainless steel screws. I covered mine with clear fingernail polish to stop the rust.

Overall, when the band functioned it was pretty cool but Nike is not ready to release this band with all of thes issues. Additonally, I belonged to Facebook group of FuelBand owners from all over the world and they all had the same issues. Hopefully Nike comes out with a new version of this but until then BEWARE!

I got mine as a Christmas give from a relative who purchased it for several of us to try. I hadn't heard much about it prior to receiving it as a gift and did a little research before setting it up. I saw that the reviews were not resoundingly positive, but was still interested in seeing how it worked so I set it up and gave it a go. Here were my initial impressions:

* It's lightweight
* Seemed to have a long battery life
* Easy to synch

* Not truly waterproof
* Fuel points still somewhat abstract and not as motivating as I had thought
* Doesn't track Bike, Swim, Ski and other common activities
* Not really all that attractive

Fast forward 5 months and my Fuelband no longer works. It is clearly broken. Nike has admitted it is broken and that it is under warranty. However, they won't follow through with my support requests. I call and their system misdirects to the wrong department. I get rerouted and end up in an hour long queue. I request a call back and get nothing. I contact via e-mail and get the run around. I get an escalation and they don't bother to follow up. I trying to contact through Twitter and get nothing. 2 weeks of trying to get them to give me instructions on how to replace this under warranty and I have nothing except a useless Fuelband and a really bad impression of Nike.

* Can't recommend the product
* Absolutely can't recommend the company's customer service
