4.0 out of 5 stars A Highly rare color yet simple sleek design, March 7, 2008
Now, alot of people were excited that jordan was willing to go beyond 20 sneakers and come out with something totally new and refreshing especially after that bombed, Jordan XX. As the release date approached pictures floated everywhere of the XX1's white/red/black release. While working in a footaction i was about the only person who was waiting for its release, while others thought it was unattractive but better than the XX. Is this sneaker design bad? Is it uncomfortable? Is it VISIONARY? I can say yes to all three.

I think the problem with this sneaker is its wideness in pictures. To be honest their is nothing wide or big about this sneaker. The way its designed on the top half gives this sneaker a big or simple look because most previous jordans look like a puzzle thrown together to create a master peice. I think Jordan wanted the XX1 to represent a B-Ball sneaker simple yet elegant, comfortable and performance minded, with ankle support in mind. Elegant and simple it is, the top half is beautifully made and smooth with its red suede. The bright red is a stand out and with the right outfit these sneakers are hot. The way to use these are with shorts on a nice game of b-ball. Is this sneaker geared for hardcore basketball use? Yes....the design says yes and the extreme comfortability says yes, the high top cover on your ankles SCREAMS yes! I feel better wearing these, walking in them, running in them etc! BUT is the sneaker uncomfortable at all? Here and their i felt it was a tiny bit clunky for a sneaker, like it was too big or ankle minded for a casual walk. With its interchangeable pods i think the sneaker was strictly B-BALL minded. It also included carbon fiber on part of the bottom of the sneaker to add to the performance factor. From a distance the sneaker is unattractive but put it on and you will feel different about it. I think alot of people would agree that not only can this be used to match your fashion tastes but you will catch, while wearing it, the performance built for it.

Im a jordan fan and i find this sneaker to be revolutionary with its new suspension system for foot support, its simple sleek look, and the blood red just makes this a collectible.

Design: 9.4/10 I think this a cleaner better looking sneaker then most previous J's

Weight: 7.9/10 I think this what contributes to that clunkyness factor i feel. Its a bit heavier and a high ankle top enforce's the restrictiveness of your ankle, feeling like you got to much holding you back while walking.

Durability: 8.0/10 Based on a test i read on a magazine it says the carbon fiber snaps after hard use because of the pivoting of your feet while playing B-Ball. Other than that i think its solidly built

Comfortability: 10/10 I've got to say the support for running and jumping is incredible. It feels generally great, for me, but for anyone its up to them depending on the use for the sneaker.
