Can't beat this Deal!!!,

This review is from: Niko OTP-2613W 26-Inch HD-Ready LCD TV with DVI Input (Electronics)
There is no LCD TV you will find at a lower price. I did many, many searches. It's more than a couple hundred dollars below anything you find in the retail stores or the internet and that is even without the $[...] rebate I received. I wasn't sure at first about buying the product because it was so cheap and was a brand I wasn't familiar with. After a lot of research, I found some other customer reviews and they were all good also. So, I went ahead and made the purchase. I have had the TV for about a month or more now and it's still working great!. It has a great picture for movies. I use it mostly for playing XBox. I have also connected it to my computer with the DVI connector but a standard VGA will work too. It displays at 1280x768 for my computer. This was the only TV i found at 26" that could do that and not even my 55" wide-screen TV I have at home can do that. All others just display at 640x480 and who wants that... I even connected my cable TV to it, so it would work great also as a regular TV. Then I also connected both the cable tv and computer and had both my computer and cable TV up at the same time. Either just full screen, split screen or PIP. It works awesome! Well I have already recommended this TV to my friends and a couple of them are in the process of purchasing the TV. So, I would have to say I am very, very satisified with this product.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Niko OTP-2613W 26-Inch HD-Ready LCD TV with DVI Input (Electronics)
My first concern was hearing many owners complained of DEAD PIXELS. I searched and found NIKO's website (nikotronics.com) and learned that they have been in the LDC panel business for 17 years. (They must have supplied panels to big name brands before started selling their own in 2005). But the fact that they are headquartered in California and provide customer service 24/7 was the deciding factor.
Originally thought about buying a Tatung or Ilo from Walmart but read many reports of their lack of customer support in the US. I ordered it, got it very fast. And NO DEAD PIXELS!!!! Picture quality is great, especially from a progressive scan DVD signal source. (Cable picture quality was a little noisy). But, at this price I may get another one.

I bought this TV because of how inexpensive it is relative to other LCD TVs its size, and am amazed at how nice it is considering that I had not heard of Niko until I went TV shopping recently. First off, this TV can be used as a computer monitor (I hook it up to my powerbook g4 at a resolution of (1024 x ???) and can see text quite clearly. There are TWO component video inputs, in addition to TWO S-Video inputs. One way to judge the quality of LCD screens is by how red the reds are (low quality screens show reds as a little orange), and this screen is just beautiful.
The internal speakers are very nice, especially considering their size -- certanly sufficient for non-digital TV. This would be an excellent TV for low-tech shoppers -- there aren't a billion features to have to learn -- you can basically turn it on and off, and press "input" on the remote to cycle through Cable/DvD/VCR/Computer/etc... Many of the TVs competing with this product are a bit overwhelming for the layman. One downside to this television is that I can't seem to find a universal remote that can be configured for Niko televisions. I expect that this problem will be solved quickly if this company continues to produce quality products such as this one.

Hope it works-NIKO won't get help if it doesn't,
This review is from: Niko OTP-2613W 26-Inch HD-Ready LCD TV with DVI Input (Electronics)
I bought the 32" version which is attractive and worked great for 34 days-THEN the picture died although the sound worked-I called NIKO customer service about 10 times-finally I was told there where no service outlets available in my area for repair. I then was told I must ship it back to the distribution center in CA. at a cost to me of $75.00 through UPS. Next they received it according to UPS on the 7th of the month but denied having it there until the 23rd. Then they said it was delived to them with structural damage and there would be a charge of $70 which they changed to $160 2 days later. (I packed it great with lots of padding and UPS wouldn't have picked it up if it thought it wasn't). Now I am out $235 extra costs although UPS gave me $100 back for my damage claim without checking it out. They then sent me a supposed "NEW" replacement that only worked in black and white-no color in the picture. They offered a 3rd TV but after the first 2, I screamed and hollered, with no success at NIKO, but the Tiger Direct people were nice enough to return my money after hearing of my problems with the manufacturer.
PS their remote sucks and you will find the no code works for your cable/satillite remotes so you have to use both-if you get a TV that works great, but if it breaks down---don't expect help.

The Best Deal You Can Find,
By
This review is from: Niko OTP-2613W 26-Inch HD-Ready LCD TV with DVI Input (Electronics)
This Television is fantastic. It is a great TV or monitor. I had no problem setting up this display for both. It is easy to use and the picture quality is good. For the price, I don't think you can find a better product. I would suggest this to anyone who needs a small TV or a huge display for their computer.

Good HD and console TV, lousy SDTV or PC Monitor ...,

I've had the OTP-2613W for almost a year now.
It's great for the PS2 (480p), Xbox (480p/720p) or Xbox 360 (720p). It's also fine as a PC gaming monitor (1024x768 or 1280x768). But the dot pitch is horrendous for normal PC usage -- look elsewhere! And the SDTV is very, very poor quality, worst I've ever seen (even on a LCD).

this tv has a dvi input which is good but it also has some problems. when switching virations of pip, the tv freezes and turns off. the tv also came with one dead pixal. good deal if u dont want a high quality tv and just plan to use it in the bedroom or computer room. if you plan to watch a lot of movies, tv and sports i would invest in a better tv such as a panasonic with tv tuner. watching regular tv on lcd blows. i rarely watch tv on this because the panasonic with the hd tuner is amazing. not only because of the hd tunber but the quality of the panasonic is better. more viabrant colors. contrast ratio on niko is low too even though its "high contrast". the speed is pretty slow to as i recall so there might be ghost images while playing games.overall im pleased with tv because it only cost me 450 shipped so i use it with my computer and to watch movies from my computer. the freezing from the pip can be very annoying, you have to unplug it and replug it in to work..... and the dead pixal can be very annoying because you know its there and try to see if u can see it. buy it if you dont want to invest too much on a top tier tv otherwise its worth it to buy a panasonic!

The sound went out after a few months. The remote is of poor quality and you have to press the power button repeatedly to turn or off. Picture notoo bad and sound wasn't too bad while it worked. But you don't expect the sound to go so soon.

BEST VALUE, Picture in Picture HDTV not HD ready!,

This review is from: Niko OTP-2613W 26-Inch HD-Ready LCD TV with DVI Input (Electronics)
This is best LCD TV at this price range. IT HAS PIP , A real HDTV not a fake HD READY. Compared with SONY , BEST VALUE WITH MUCH MORE FUNCTION.
More surprise: It has one video input with one remote button correspondent. MOST QUCIK INPUT SWICH DESIGN. no need to dig into menu one by one. BEST DESIGN, BEST DESIGN I see on current market! |
