I painfully searched all of the suggestions on Amazon looking for an extra battery. Most of the cheap imitations had very mixed reviews, so I sucked it up and bought the name brand product. The peace of mind was well worth the extra cost. It charges, it fits, and it lasts for many, many pictures. Very happy with this battery

Beautiful addition to my camera's stamina! :)

Before you use this battery though, be sure to check with Nikon's website to ensure that you have the latest upgraded firmware. On some camera's, due to the way this battery interacts with the camera's "battery fuel gauge" it can actually take LESS photos than with the standard EN-EL14 battery. The latest firmware upgrades fix this problem.

Also, if you are concerned whether this battery will fit your camera, check again on the Nikon website here: http://www.nikonusa.com/en/Nikon-Products/Product/Batteries/27126/EN-EL14a-Rechargeable-Li-ion-Battery.html

When you buy a camera body (I just purchased a Nikon D5300, my 7th Nikon), it will include a battery, usually a rechargeable one. I recommend immediately buying a replacement battery. Charge both batteries. Keep one in the camera body until it becomes low on power. Then install your other, previously-charged battery and put the drained battery in your charger as soon as practical. This may seem like common sense, but imagine how disappointed you will be if you are shooting photos and your only battery runs down. Even if you happen to be near your charger and a source of electricity, you will have to wait several minutes or many minutes before you can resume shooting. If you are serious about your photography, you do not want to ever be unable to shoot because of something like a dead battery (or a full memory card or, for those of you still addicted to film, no more rolls of film in your bag!). Spend the money for an extra battery immediately after or at the same time as your camera body purchase! Note: Do not buy a generic equivalent battery for your Nikon (or Canon or whatever manufacturer you prefer)! Always spend the extra amount to buy an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) battery. If that generic battery ever leaks or causes damage to your camera body, do not expect Nikon (or any other manufacturer) to fix it under warranty.

This battery last longer than the original battery (EN-EL 14) that came with my D3200 camera. I will buy this battery again.

I bought this battery a month or so ago as a second battery to put in my battery grip. I am wary of rechargeable batteries in general because of the potential for fires so I opted to spend the extra bucks and get the Nikon battery. This one has a bit more capacity than the one that came with my D5100. It charged up fine and is now in service with the older battery. You just have to ask yourself is it worth the risk of ruining your $700.00+ camera to save $20.00 on the battery.

I needed an extra battery for my battery grip for my D3300 and this is a legit buy! It's the actual Nikon battery. I recommend buying through here. Best price and it's better to go legit sometimes!

Great battery life, works fine in my Nikon D3200, charges pretty fast. Pretty much essential to have a backup battery, might as well be this one!

Battery works great for my D5300. Normally I take a ton of pictures so having multiple batteries really helps extend the time I can be shooting. I usually get around 500+ shots on a single charge, more if I have GPS off on the camera. I don't usually have WiFi enabled but I still usually get around 300-400 shots when I have both that and GPS on.

You can't beat stock- and this battery lets me take a lot of pictures without worrying about a dead battery in the middle of a shoot. It's not cheap- but when you're in the middle of nowhere, it's not like you can plug in your charger and wait for an hour, so I carry a spare. I typically get more than 500 shots from a fresh battery- but leaving one in the camera tends to run it down, while leaving the camera without a battery means having to set it up every time you want to use it. It's worth the money to me. I suspect that after the first time it lets you get the shot you've been waiting for, it'll be worth it to you as well.

This battery was recommended for Nikon D3200 camera, boasting more power and longer use time. It's the 3rd battery I use in rotation with 2 other much used Nikon batteries. I use my camera low battery indicator to prompt me when to recharge. According to the Nikon website, Lithium Ion batteries aren't picky about when to recharge, whether fully or partially discharged. More concern is keeping the battery warm before camera use. None of the 3 batteries have the same V, mHa, or Wh . I spent more than double money for this battery, over the prices of the other 2, hoping for longer use. After 5 use cycles, while it does perform (3 stars) , time of use isn't longer, and in fact, it gives the shortest use time compared to my other 2 Nikon batteries. I won't buy this specific Nikon battery again.
