This is the perfect lens for everyday use. You can get up close and personal or step back and great some decent distant shots without having to switch lenses. I do professional photography for the sport of paintball and when I'm covering large events and I'm deep in the woods, I cannot just carry a huge backpack with all my lenses, so I just put the 55-200 on and I can get all the shots I need without losing clarity or missing "the shot" while changing a lens. The added bonus of VR technology makes getting the dramatic shots that much easier. The cleaning kit and filter complete a great package for a great price.

The description doe's not mention that it comes with a lens hood. The lens is fast and accurate.

I bought this lens based on several recommendations about the quality of the images you can get with it. In particular, the lightness of the lens is a major factor. I recently bought the Nikon D90 I use this lens on and the combination is very easy to hold for long periods and to shoot sports with. All the pictures I took with reasonable light levels were super sharp. I used it to shoot pictures of my grandson playing football and even caught a sequence of shots where I zoomed between shots (1 second apart or so) as he scored almost right in front of me. All the shots at 200mm were excellent after discounting my sometimes poor selection of where to point the lens. The VR clearly was working as I was hand-holding for all my shots,

I ordered this lens after many 5* reviews and I am glad that I did. The lens was shipped and received VERY quickly and in mint condition. The added accessories with this lens are a welcome bonus since the cost of this lens by itself in stores is more than this kit (And I didn't have to pay tax or shipping!.) I am VERY new to DSLR photography so all of the extras are a big help!

I am very happy with the lens itself, though the cleaning kit and strap are on the cheap side. But they were not the point of my purchase- simply extras that came with it.

The price was excellent too. I would be happy to buy from this vendor again.

This a good product that will work fine with most of the Nikon cameras listed, however, with the D3000 which I have, the autofocus feature does NOT work. You must manually focus. For still shots or motion shots going across you can manually focus fast enough. For rapidly moving objects coming at you (like runners at a track meet), the best you can do is focus at a fixed object then hope to catch the moving object at that point.

I bought this lens shortly after I bought my D3000. It has a great zoom that you can easily use thanks to the Vibration Reduction.
Even at 200mm and in low light my shots are never blurry.
It also makes great portrait, you can check out some pictures I added so that you can have an idea.
The only drawback I have found is the autofocus which can get pretty loud. The sound of it almost worries me sometimes but I have heard it was normal.
The lens come with a front and back cap, the lens hood and a case.

The pack includes a cap strap which is very practical, a cleaning kit that I use frequently and a UV filter. Opinions on using a UV filters vary, some people say it betters the pictures some say the opposite. I use it to protect my lens: I'd much rather replace a $20 filter than my $300 lens!

All in all, a great lens especially for low end DSLR like the D3000, D5000. A must-have for beginners.

This is an excellent all purpose lens. It has reasonable speed, but I wish it was a little faster, but I could have spent a lot more money for that speed. Very workable lens for my casual needs. The vibration reduction feature is excellent, I love that. Excellent price as well - very happy with the lens and the purchase overall.

I have some lens such Canon,Sigma, etc, but nothing like Nikon glasses. The image is perfect and great operability and performance about the photography field. If you are looking for a five stars lens for your SRL, don't hesitate and buy Nikon.
