After much research including shooting pictures with friends' cameras with this lens, I am pleased to add this lens to my collection. I like the sharpness of image and the additional capabilities. My Nikon D-90 camera travels internationally with me allowing me to bring home unique images of places and people.

This Nikon Lens is great. I am relatively new to photography, I am shooting a Nikon D3000 with this lens. I have been taking great sports photos with it. It is a very sturdy lens. although it is quite heavy, thats expected when its a 70-300mm lens. great product, will buy another lens from Nikon in the future

Great Deal, I love the lens, its a great for everyday use walking around, hiking, fishing, hunting, sports, and just walking around while on vacation. I am looking forward to going hunting and fishing in the early spring. You get all you need to keep your lens clean and in good shape. The tripod is to small for my DSLR with the 70-300mm lens attached but its great for a small compact Digital Camera.
The VR takes some getting use to but, I will just have to learn to wait a second longer for it to stablize the image. After this winter I will have to write another review. But for now I love it and I would recommend it to all my friends. To everyone who is looking for a midrange Lens this is the one for you.

For a few dollars more I purchased the kit since I had none of these accessories. The lens is working fine. I'm new to photography and have no complaints with it yet. The tripod is light and comes with a carrying case. I don't expect to use it much but it's nice to have and the reason I went for this kit. The cleaning accessories will be handy to have; cleaning cloths, air blower and cleaning solution. The Nikon lens pen has two ends, a retractable brush which is useful and glad to have and the other is for wiping surfaces but it seems to be leaving black smudges...hmmmm...not useful. I also applied the LCD screen protectors but I'm not happy with them. They seem to come off a little to easy when I put/pull the camera in/out of its carrying case. Overall, happy with the purchase. Just a few of the accessories aren't what I was expecting or meeting expectations.
