While not competing in the same class as Steiners, Leicas or Svarowskis, this is a decent basic binocular. The surface material is pleasant to the touch, and all the controls are easy to operate. The binoculars feel robust and there is no play, the finish and workmanship is excellent. For the price class these binoculars are reasonably bright and the image quality is good all around, though not excellent. They may even be used with eyeglasses on, having good eye relief and exit pupils. They are not weatherproof, nor do they have locking diopter adjustments or hard, sliding eyecups that one gets in pricier models.

We had another brand we used until we borrowed this style at the races one day. Had to buy our own. Gave the others away. Paid twice the price, but worth every penny.

Of the 5 binoculars I own, the optics of this Nikon are by far the highest quality.
You really do get what you pay for when it comes to bino's or telescopes.
You won't be disappointed with these Binoculars.
