Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Nikon has introduced an upgrade of the successful Travelite binocular series, popular with hikers, birders, and nature enthusiasts. The new Travelite V series binoculars incorporate several new features designed to make them more user-friendly while enhancing optical performance. Each model in the Travelite series has 25mm objective lenses for maximum light gathering. Close focus distance is under 14 feet for all models. The field-of-view range is 294 feet for this 9x25 model. The Nikon Travelite V binoculars utilize precision-ground, multicoated optics, and high-index BaK4 prisms for true color rendition, maximum sharpness, and enhanced light transmission. They also use aspherical eyepiece lenses that provide a very flat viewing field and markedly improved edge-to-edge sharpness over many conventional lenses.

A new, ergonomically contoured, carbon-fiber body makes the Travelite V easy to use for long viewing sessions without physical fatigue. The lightweight body encases a rugged all-metal chassis and is covered with a durable black rubber armor that provides added shock resistance and a positive grip in slippery conditions. It also features large, conveniently located central focus knobs and clicking diopters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, July 17, 2006

This review is from: Nikon 7509 Travelite 9 X 25 mm V Binoculars (Electronics)
I will skip the technical mumbo jumbo and focus on the experience of using these binoculars.

When I first picked these up, I was surprised and pleased at how light and comfortable they were in my hands. My pleasure remained and my surprise quickly turned to amazement when I brought them to my glasses (Yes, I wear glasses and no, I did not take them off to try them out. I use them with my glasses on - very nice!). WOW! Beautiful color and pristine field of view - from the left of the lenses to the right the of the lenses. I did not know such a wonderful image could be seen through binoculars. Images seen are crystal clear and higher detail than what can be seen with the naked eye (or in my world - through glasses). This is true from the closest focused items to the furthest focused object. (I looked at weeds ~15' away and on the weeds I could see grains of dirt not seen with the unaided eye. Also the weeds were more distinguished than with the unaided eye. I turned to look at some nearby mountains and I clearly saw eagles riding thermals that I could not see without the binoculars).
The focus knob is easy to use, they are very easy on the eyes, the price is reasonable, and I even like the color. These would make a fine gift for most any age group and for most user levels.

These binoculars are spectacular. WOW!

2.0 out of 5 stars Lense Flare, January 24, 2008
This review is from: Nikon 7509 Travelite 9 X 25 mm V Binoculars (Electronics)
I own the older version of these so I thought this would be a safe bet to give my bird watching sister for Christmas. When she tried them out she complained of a half moon shaped flare in the lower left corner that comprised about 1/3 of the field of view. This was evident any time the binoculars were pointed within 90 degrees of the sun. My older Nikon binoculars do not exhibit this if pointed in the exact same direction. She tried two copies of these (we paid the shipping cost for both returns to B&H)and I am looking for another comparable set in a different brand.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nikon 7509 Travelite 9 X 25 mm V Binoculars (Electronics)
I bought these quite a while back and it still pleases me to use them. They are very light weight, easy to use and have good quality lenses. I'd buy another pair without any doubt if l needed a good travel pair of binoculars.
