Wonderful compact binoculars!,

This review is from: Nikon 7523 Ecobins 10 x 25mm Binoculars (Electronics)
These binoculars appear very similar to Nikon's ProStaff 10x25 compact binoculars, with a few added "green" bells and whistles. I like their compact size, incredible optics, and light weight. Many expert birders advise against buying anything stronger than 7x or 8x, but the Nikon optics are so good they provide excellent, clear magnification, even in dim light. The environment-friendly features are an added plus. I love the way they look and feel. The non-slip casing makes for a secure grip. My only complaint is that there is no manual. The "instructions" are a list of warnings and precautions--nothing about how to attach the neck strap to the binoculars and lens cover or about how to focus them properly. I bought these binoculars from 17th St. Photo through eBay for $11 less than direct from their website or through Amazon.com.

We purchased our Ecobins because we wanted a lightweight pair of quality binoculars we could use for observing hummingbirds in our backyard. We needed fairly rugged binoculars with resistance to moisture since Central Florida is very humid about 9 months out of the year. So far, we are very pleased with the Nikon product. The binoculars are easy to use and they adapt very well to users with glasses, an important point since both my spouse and I wear glasses. Most importantly, the price is very reasonable for the quality of this product. We look forward to many years of enjoyment with our Nikon Ecobins.

Even though these binoculars are currently not being sold on Amazon, I am writing this review as a reference for anybody who find the product somewhere else or maybe used but would like to read reviews first:I was browsing for a pair of quality binoculars which don't break the bank (my budget was around $75) and came across these. Even though my wife didn't think we need binoculars she now probably uses them more than I do. The pair is fairly lightweight and collapses well. Great for stuffing into a backpack or even the coat pocket. You could also use the included case and strap and carry them around your neck. They are very user friendly, we had no problems with adjusting them, and work both for kids (my six year old nephew uses them every time he comes to our house) and adult faces. Another plus is Nikon's use of Eco-friendly materials, both for the scope as well as for the packaging.
