Great First Impression,
This review is from: Nikon RifleHunter 550 Brown (Sports)
My first impression is that this is a very good rangefinder for the money. Without using the owner's manual, I was quickly able to check ranges of several objects at our ranch - trees, metal surfaces and animals were ranged for variety - and all of them appeared to be quite accurate. Conditions were windy and mostly sunny and my time was limited, but so far I'm impressed. I look forward to using it under other conditions, such as lower light/overcast/etc. While hog hunting with a friend recently, he was using his Leupold rangefinder and was unable to get it to change to the proper mode through repeated attempts without his manual. From what I have read and from my limited experience to this point, the Nikon is a simpler device. I found it to be user-friendly and intuitive. I also own a Nikon Monarch UCC scope which has been quite impressive, with great low-light performance. I hope the quality level of this rangefinder continues to be on par with what I have come to expect from my scope. Initial results are very good!

i really like this product, has worked in all kinds of weather for me, i have even "shot" it through a double pane glass window and it was accurate. it does have the ability to give you both line of sight distance and horizontal distance which is good for making a shot up or down a steep incline. i only wish it would tell you the exact angle of the slope as well, probably not a big deal for most folks but i just like to know that kind of thing. all in all i really do like it, passes time while your sitting in the treestand

This unit seems to work pretty well. Had a little trouble on distant objects when closer brush was nearby. Unit wanted to pick up the closer object although it wans't in the crosshairs so to speak. Got a reading out to 390 yards on trees without leaves this hunting season, which I thought was pretty good(leaves reflect better and are easier to "shoot" when full of moisture). Overall a good product. As always with Amazon it was a pretty easy purchase.

The Nikon RifleHunter 550 has been easy to use and has made a world of difference in terms of measuring distance for my bow and rifle hunting. The RifleHunter 550 is very easy to use, just point select your mode and the distance is displayed. Before buying, I researched many reviews of rangefinders and the Nikon RifleHunter 550 was always rated high. The product is a must if you bow hunt.

Sighting in for pistol/rifle and spotting for sight adjustment with clear field of view and adjustable rear sight. Nice little case that can be worn on the belt. Great for the occassional shooter who wants to ensure his weapons are tuned.

Bought this rangefinder for hunting and rangeshooting. It reads extremely fast and accurate compared to measured/known distances. It also hits the target through brushy conditions. It definitely stands up to the Nikon name.

I have NO CLUE about the Riflehunter 550 Brown as I ordered it for my husband for Christmas, BUT my husband is over the moon with excitement as he has wanted one for along time! His brother-in-law has one, he told my husband that it works great & he loves his..........so my FABULOUS HUSBAND being sooo deserving(he's in the military!) got one! It was either get me a Christmas present or him, I've had chronic back pain & had surgery a yr ago & broke the disk above where my surgery was 8 days after my 1 year anniversary of getting my back fixed!!(it's healed now :-) He works really hard & has taken great care of me, so it was a easy choice on who would get Christmas this year(military doesn't pay to well & I can't work right now!) So thats my story & I hope all of you have a great day :-)
