This review is from: Nikon AS-15 Sync Terminal Adapter Hot Shoe to PC AS15 (Electronics)
It adds a PC sync socket to cameras that only have a hot shoe and makes it possible to use a much larger selection of flash units with a variety of cameras, not just Nikon. While it does not do TTL, most flash units can use their automatic sensors to meter output. Used it extensively with a Nikon Coolpix 5000 and newer Vivitar 285 and 283 flash units. Also tested it with a Canon Rebel. Please note: Make sure you test your flash's trigger voltage if using something not recommended for your camera, digital or not. If you have a camera that uses iTTL, like the Nikon D70s, you pretty much have to get one of the iTTL flash units.

This review is from: Nikon AS-15 Sync Terminal Adapter Hot Shoe to PC AS15 (Electronics)
While it does not regulate voltage for use with older strobes it works very well with modern strobes. It also works with any camera with a hot shoe mount. It is not brand specific. If you need to add a Sync terminal to a camera that does not have one built in, this device is money well spent.

This review is from: Nikon AS-15 Sync Terminal Adapter Hot Shoe to PC AS15 (Electronics)
I purchased the Nikon (AS-15) in order to be able to fire an off camera strobe with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel 400d (Xti)... It works perfectly since the strobe I'm using has got a safe sync voltage (5V) for digital cameras so I didn't need to go for the more expensive adapters which have built-in voltage protection...I needed this because my camera does not have a PC sync outlet... I tried it and it works just fine...
