Good deal,
This review is from: Nikon Accessory Pack for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics)
This is a great overall package to buy, especially if you are about to get your first Nikon DSLR camera. I just bought a Nikon D50 and I bought this with it because it seemed like it gave me the best value for my money (because of the deep discount Amazon.com has on it). The bag is sturdy and easily customizable to fit your gear any way you want it. You can fit your camera, two medium size lenses, a speedlight, and all the other essential things like batteries, memory cards, computer wires, etc. It has pockets on the front and side for small objects and another on the back suitable for your camera's manual.
The UV haze protection filter comes in a plastic case, and the battery has a plastic base (or terminal cover as NIkon calls it) that protects it when not in use (same cover included in the NIkon DSLR kits). Finally, the included Nikon School Guide to SLR Photography is a full color, well-written book that serves as a general introduction to SLR Photography (it includes information for film cameras as well). Perhaps one other thing that I would have liked to see in this accessory pack is protective covers for the camera LCD and/or a soft cloth for cleaning the camera lens. For someone with more equipment a backpack or a bigger bag might be more suitable. However, for someone like myself, who's just getting into digital SLR photography, this bag and the included accessories are a perfect compliment to my Nikon camera.

This is a great overall value. The bag is very high quality and the book it includes is very informative. Separately the battery would run about $35, the book about $8, the filter $15, and the bag at least $20. (These are estimates) You can see what a well priced deal this is. The bag, the book, and the battery are genuine Nikon, but the lens filter is not. The filter has "Precision 52mm UV Japan" written on it. A genuine Nikon filter would cost nearly $40. This one appears to be the same as the Quanteray filters. It's still high quality, installs nicely, and works great.
The bag itself has plenty of storage and is compact enought to go anywhere. It has nice heavy duty plastic feet to prevent 'nylon picking' when it is placed on, for example and among other things, concrete sidewalks. Overall, I can't find a better deal to accompany my new D50 with the same quality. You will want to leave the filter on to protect the lens, the book is helpful, more so for beginners, and the battery is convenient but not necessary unless a lot of flash photography is needed. These batteries last forever! Good luck.

I wish I had read the dimensions of the bag, before placing the order. I travel a lot, and this bag is just too bulky for airline travel. It's HUGE!
The bag will be used now for car travel, and for storing the camera.

A must have if you have a Nikon DSLR Camera or a video cam, has numerous division spacers inside the bag, sturdy, well padded to protect your camera from bumps plus it's water proof, but the space inside the bag is limited if you have 2 or more lenses including your camera. This pack comes with a lens filter made in USA and an extra EN-EL3a battery. The battery and lens filter alone would already cost you $80.00 if you bought this from your local camera store without the bag. Got this item for only $75.00 here in AMAZON, what a steal!. This pack is a great bargain deal.

I purchased this for a D50 and i am very pleased. I looked for a bag that can hold extra lens and flash unit and some other things but they are either small or too big. The bag comes in this set is perfect size and also the UV filter is better quality then Tiffen and made in Japan. There are pockets where different filters can be stored and lens cleaning equipment can be carried as well as the battery charger fits into the pockets. I can't complaint to have an extra battery but the book comes with the set is just for really beginners. It was fun to read but nothing important and i wish there was a lens cleaner or something similar in the set than the book. I would suggest this set for anyone looking for a camera bag, especially for D50 since the filter fits D50 lens.

Good Choice for D50,
This review is from: Nikon Accessory Pack for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics)
Was looking for a camera and accessory bag for over a month. This works well with my Nikon D50. It holds the camera and threee (3) lens, one on the camera
There is also room for a small(6") tripod, manual, remote, four SD cards(could hold many more), lens cleaner and several lens caps. Even at this there is room for other small items.

This case is exactly what you'd expect, which is a good thing. the case is of good quality, about the size of a camcorder case with room for lenses. it comes with a uv haze filter AND a spare battery? i never looked back on this purchase.

I was thrilled with the bag for the first 5 months, it is exactly what I wanted, but I grew out of it a bit quicker than expected. The camera and all cables fit, but the second lens....not so much.

must-have starter kit for any beginner Nikon DSLR user,

This review is from: Nikon Accessory Pack for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics)
This is a great starter kit for any new Nikon DSLR owner. The package contains the following:
- Nikon camera gadget bag This is actually a pretty nice camera bag. It looks like it's made of ballistic nylon, and is semi-rigid, which is perfect for protection. The bag has rubber feet on the bottom and a carry strap. It has two small pockets on the ends (perfect for spare batteries or filters), one medium pocket on the front (perfect for cables), one flat pocket on the back (perfect for manuals), and one zippered mesh pocket under the top flap (perfect for memory cards and little pieces). The main storage compartment has velcro on all four sides, and comes with three rearrangeable dividers (one short, two long) that allow the inside to be configured into whichever way suits you most. I have two small compartments (one for a lens, one for a speedlight), and one large compartment (for the camera with a lens mounted to it). - spare battery This is an original equipment Nikon EN-EL3a battery. Not much else to it, except that it comes in handy. Everybody likes spare power. - 52mm UV filter This is a very basic UV filter, which is intended to be used to protect the front element of any lens with 52mm filter threads (the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX I/II lenses found on the D50 and D40 use 52mm threads, by the way). This filter does NOT have any anti-glare or anti-dispersion coatings on it (single or multiple). - Nikon photography book I never read this, because I'm not that new to photography, but I glanced at it, and it's a very good instructional book on the basic principles of SLR-based photography. A recommended read for any photography beginners, it'll get you making better pictures quite quickly. |
