Solidly built, compact size, a tad on the heavy side. Not fog nor water proof; the lens cover are not attached to the body, and may get lost once removed. Great image quality, smooth zoom operation. A great compact binocular.

Brand name binocular, superb optics, really great price!,
This review is from: Nikon Action 7-15x35 Zoom Binocular (Electronics)
I've owned several binoculars prior to this type, this is my 2nd Nikon, the first one being the regular Action 7X35. As with any Nikon optical product, the optics of these binoculars are superb. The Bak-4 High Index Prism optics offer sharp, detailed images with little or no distortion. And the sharpness is amazing. The optics enhances the images and with the 7-15x magnification, there is very little you cannot magnify. As with all binoculars that doesn't have image stabilization, you will have shaking at the highest magnification. Smart thing to do is use this with a tripod of which, this binocular is equipped with a slot to screw-in your tripod. Very handy if you want to extend magnification without getting dizzy in the process. The rubber armoring of pretty much solid, offering protection from the usual bumps and drops. It also comes with rubber caps to protect both the eyepiece and objective lenses from dusts and smudges. Also comes with its own case to store it when not in use. Great binoculars so far. What you have is a brand name maker of optics at a great price. Highly recommended!

You buy 7x35's for better depth of field, so that you don't need to constantly refocus as objects move toward or away from you. These will do nicely, plus they have a good zoom to 15x if you need it.
The binoculars are on the heavy side, surprisingly so. Mine arrived with the left and right sides a little out of alignment, but my eyes can compensate after a second. The brightness was good for a 35mm objective lens. All-in-all, a good deal for the money.

This binocular is quite easy to use and has a nice clear field of view. I find it very useful for bird watching, for example. Two negatives: (1) it is bulkier than the small fixed power types (2) the range of focus goes well past infinity and the useful range of focus (close up to infinity) is all in about half the total focus control range. This takes a bit of getting used to.

Just completed 10 day trip using these and like them a great deal. The magnification variability is extremely useful. Well constructed. Only concerns would be that they can become heavy if worn for a long time and it is painfully easy to lose the large lens caps (small ones attach to strap so you need to lose binoculars to lose them). I lost the large ones, but retraced steps and was lucky to find them. Otherwise, a great product. Clear lens, easy to use, top notch. Doesn't hurt to have that Nikon brand on them..

Have small Nikon binoculars for kick-about events and are perfect. I've had Bushnell a couple times for hunting, but the focus gears jam and are useless after a few months. These 7-15 x 35 zoom binos are extremely clear at all ranges (slight re-focusing needed at full range) and a good field of view. I'll never go back to Bushnell. The Nikon is really quality stuff, including my Nikon Digital SLR camera. My brand from now on.

I bought a pair of the Nikon Action 7-15x35 Zoom Binoculars from Amazon recently and was disappointed about various items. The binoculars were poorly packaged without almost any protection in a very shallow box. Then I found they were misaligned. No matter what I did I could not get them to focus properly. The Zoom feature made everything worse as I could not focus them at all on the x15 setting. The Zoom's quality also seem a bit low quality. Also, the lenses had finderprints right out of the box which seemed to have been squashed a little bit.
The above was disapponting because I had previously ordered (not from Amazon) a pair of Nikon Action 7x35 Non-Zoom binoculars and the optics were just great. It leads me to believe that either the Zoom binoculars have a poor design altogether or that I received a defective item that was a return and previously used or both.

Nikon?,
This review is from: Nikon Action 7-15x35 Zoom Binocular (Electronics)
I purchased this item as "open box" and in fact the box was in very shabby condition. The binoculars seemed "like new" as promised, and I have found them to be essentially of good quality. The only issue I have with them is that there is no indication either on the binoculars, or on the packaging to suggest that they are made by Nikon. The pair I got was from a third party vendor and they were considerably less expensive than any of the others, but I assumed that to be a result of their open box status, not because they were a Chinese copy of the Nikon product. That said, I'm happy with them. They were a bargain at the price I paid, which was under $25.
