5.0 out of 5 stars I still can't believe it!, October 30, 2007
This review is from: Nikon Coolpix L1 6.2 Megapixel Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom and Full 1 Year Warranty (Camera Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.) (Electronics)
I have searched long and hard for a suitable digital camera for both my work and for pleasure. I almost bought a couple of $350+ cameras until I came across the refurbished Nikon L1. After careful examination and evaluation of its capabilities, I opted for it and frankly I am thrilled!
First, the L1 is small but heavy enough to make you feel you are holding a nice piece of electro-machinery. It also looks very nice (like a Nikon!). But all this is nothing compared to everything that it does, and so well. Where can you find a high quality x5 optical zoom (complemented, if you wish, with a x3 digital zoom) for UNDER $100? In addition, the LCD viewer is large and clear (You just need to get used to the fact that it is also your view finder), the menus are simple, clear, straightforward, and offer amazing possibilities. I am in the Art business : this camera gives me ultra-crisp 300 dpi pictures 18"x24" ! I am also a glider pilot and this small wonder gives me unforgettable images of the world we love. AND, after adding a $15 1Gig SD card, I can actually film almost one hour of video with sound...I have other cameras and I used to even forget them at home or in the car, now I'm looking for every opportunity to use my new Nikon and I keep it at hand - that says a lot about this gem. All this for less than $100 and with a 1 year Warranty. Being 'refurbished' by Nikon, it came with the latest software update already installed and sparkling new! I'm so glad I did my home work!
