The Nikon Coolpix P100 Digital Camera features a 10.3 megapixel resolution, 26x Zoom-Nikkor glass lens, plus several imaging innovations designed to encourage carefree shooting. It incorporates Motion Detection that automatically controls the shutter speed and ISO settings to compensate for camera shake and subject movement reducing the chances of getting image blur. The P100 also incorporates a High ISO of ISO 3200 for capturing images in low-light situations. The camera has a bright, high resolution 3.0-inch vari-angle LCD monitor with an anti-reflective coating, easing the composition of photos, even in direct sunlight. Record 1080p HD Video at 30fps with optical zoom and autofocus capabilities during recording. Camera - This is a fantastic camera for the price. I have had it for a little over a month now and have had time to start to play with it. I am by no means an expert yet, but I am enjoying the challenge. The manual is huge and very informative. There are also plenty of tutorials out on the web when you get comfortable and want to start playing with it more. If you are looking to upgrade from a point and shoot, this is a great option! It will by no means replace an SLR, but is a great option for those of us too lazy to tote around all the extra lenses. The basic features are easy to figure out. The zoom is absolutely amazing!! You can clearly see people standing on the other side of a large pond. The sport mode is pretty cool too. I have gotten some really great baseball pictures with this feature. And the shutter speed is awesome! I have gotten tons of great pics of my young nieces/ nephews and my cats. (None of whom sit still for more than a second or two)That was one of my biggest complaints about my cannon power shot. It drove me crazy that it took so long to actually take the picture that 9 out of 10 times I missed the shot I was going for. That is no longer a problem, which makes me a very happy camper!

I love that the view screen unfolds to use at different angles. I also love that it has an accordian fold, versus the side flip that the cannon comparable has. That would be way to easy to break, IMO. The camera itself also seems very sturdy and well made. It is solid, but not really heavy for it's size. I like the textured grips. It makes it easier to hold. And it is uncomplicated enough that my 9 year old niece can use the basic functions.


Bundle pack - The case is pretty sturdy. It's a little small for my taste and I wish it had zippered pockets rather than just elastic. But that was easily solved by adding in an extra little zippered case to hold spare batteries and memory cards. Eventually I may upgrade to a better case, but it definitely serves it's purpose in protecting the camera. It has a movable padding that fits next to the lenses to keep the camera stable. The little tripod is useless, but that's to be expected. The spare battery fits in the camera the same as the nikon one. Seems to hold a charge just as well. The usb card reader is very handy and fits in the extra zippered case with the batteries. The 16G card has had no issues as yet. Seems to be comparable to the high end cards so far. It has been a great size. I have plenty of room to take as many pictures as I want at an event or on a trip without having to tote around extra cards. ( I take a LOT of pictures) It even allows for movies, which eat up a ton of memory.

Normally I purchase cameras after testing them in the store but this is the first camera that I purchased without "touching and feeling" and I must say that it far exceeded my expectations. Simply love the camera. The size is great, picture quality is superb, video quality is good as well. The only thing about the video that's bad is that when you zoom in while recording, the noise of zooming in/out is also recorded but that was not a deal killer for me. It is loaded with features. This camera package came with an extra battery, 16 GB card, tripod, lens cleaning kit and a few other things. The price was not bad at all. This camera is for both beginners in good quality photography as well as advanced photographers. It's not too complicated for general public, when you have to ask strangers to take your family picture. I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family.

We simply love the camera and with all the accessories that came with it through the vendor, it's an incredible buy! We've been looking for a simple to use Digital SLR and this camera is just that. Plus it's zoom capability well exceeded my expectations. The price is great, especially since you don't have to buy a separate lense for telephoto shots. I would recommend this to anyone.
