The first impression when I received theNikon Coolpix P80 10.1 Megapixel Digital Camera with 18x VR Optical Zoom & 2-Year Extended Service Coverage + 4GB SDHC Card + Card Reader + Spare EN-EL5 Battery + Digital Camera Case was a little bit disappointing. It looks like a cheap plastic camera. In this moment I'm using it for 2 weeks and I'm impressed by the picture quality and of course the big zoom. It does his job very good. What I wanted after my Canon 2SIS was more wide angle and more zoom. Until now the only negative point is the camera is a little bit slow in taking pictures. For this type of hibryde camera's it's an excellent choice with a lot of options. It certainly will take some time to understand all the possibilities of the camera. When I read the press introduction I decided to buy the camera and for me it's a good cloice, however don't expect SLR quality.

I had problems with my Sony's shutter release button falling out twice at concerts ruining my chance to get much wanted photos and decided to find another company to buy a camera from to replace my Sony, so I did a lot of research and decided on the Nikon Coolpix P80. I had a chance to use it at a concert last week and the photos came out great. I love the ease of using it and all the choices available to take photos. I will never go back to Sony after using this Nikon.
