The camera is outstanding! However, the third party outfit from whom I purchased the camera, Cameta Camera, did not provide me the extra EN-EL3E battery that was promised in the package I purchased. When I emailed them they ignored me - I already paid for it, so why bother - right?

The camera is fantastic however and the prices Amazon offer are about the best I have found.

This is an awsome DSLR. I owned an Olympic Evolt prior to this and there is NO comparison. For the money, nothing can touch it.... Sure it will take some time to learn the menus and button functions but you can do just about anything you can imagine with this camera. I am a techie and still purchased David Busch's Nikon D300 course book. I don't want to take pictures. I want to take photographs.

I recently ordered this Nikon camera and all the accessories listed for my husband's Christmas gift. Because it was close to Christmas, it took a little longer than normal for it to arrive, but it was well packaged, and even though the outside box had taken a couple of good hits, everything inside was in superb shape. My husband is having a blast with this camera and can hardly wait to get home from work to start clicking pictures again, even though the weather has been FREEZING! He is so happy with this camera and can't believe all the cool things it can do. I don't know that much about cameras, but he has had several great SLR cameras, and this is his favorite of all.

The Nikon D300 is everything I expected it to be & more. The service from Cameta Camera & Amazon was amazing....Will shop with both again...

This camera is a replacement for my D-70. For those with a modicum of technical and photographic skill, this camera is right on target. The extra control and other features more than outweigh the additional cost of the D-300 compared to anything downline.
