Very good book, easy to use. The best so far that explains how the D40 features work, especially for a beginner. I tried a couple of other books,I am new to the world of slr cameras and have not understood enough to venture away from the auto setting!! The other books I bought was supposed to be for beginners,but I had to look up every word to figure out what they were trying to tell me.
This author, actually goes through the menus and each function very carefully and in PLAIN language. Everything I wanted to know was in this book, even some things that I didn't know I needed to know.
I highly recommend this book if you are going from digital point aand shoot to slr cameras. The book tells you all about the Nikon D40, This is an AWESOME camera!!!!

Excellent book for beginners easy to read and understand with clear illustrations.better than the magic lantern series. I always buy from Amazon for there low price and fast shipping.

Everyone who purchases a D40 or D40x camera should read this book. The information in this book will help you use your camera to the best advantage.

I am a beginning photographer. I took a first step from point and shoot to the Nikon D40. Although it was a baby step, I was a bit overwhelmed with the manual controls. This book is an easy to follow instructional aid for photographically challenged individuals (me). I highly recommend this book for new photographers using the Nikon D40.

This book is really good for the technically challenged. It's helping me alot. I'm glad I purchased this book.

Expands upon the Nikon instruction manual with some personal experience to help guide the user. The sections for setting up the camera to do creative capture was worth the cost of the book.

Excellent book, very easy to learn, many pictures are use to explain how do you do. Vocabulary clean. I recommend.

A lot of information. A little bit to overwhelming. Maybe I should just get an easier camera. :o)

I'm a novice photographer and this is just what I needed. The book arrived in great condition and is quickly getting dog-eared from use!

I've just started reading this book, but already I can tell it will help me with my camera. My boyfriend bought the D40 for me a few years ago. I've used it well, but I wanted to challenge myself a little more to get better pictures. I think the book can help with that. I recommend it for the beginner!
