I have found the D60 to be a very capable DSLR. While the automatic settings take great pictures, I've had the greatest satisfaction with the manual modes as the camera really stretches its legs here. The package from Cameta was almost exactly what I was looking for in offering both VR lenses and not throwing in a bunch of stuff I didn't really need this not being the first camera I've bought.

I decided to upgrade from a point and shoot to a "real" camera. I spent quite a bit of time researching what would be the best value for the best affordable camera. I found tons of good reviews for the Nikon D60 and I wasn't disappointed. I use it for both work and pleasure and have found it to be easy to use with plenty of features when I need them. Newbies to the camera world shouldn't be intimidated with all the fancy features because this one is completely automatic if you so desire. Make sure you have a good sized hard drive for storage because you are going to want to take tons of fantastic photos once you purchase this beauty.

The Nikon D60 has proven to me to be a fantastic beginner's DSLR, while it can hardly be labeled a beginner's camera since it is more than capable of running with the higher models. This camera produces high quality photographs, is durabe and lightweight, with a small body. Not to mention, a small price tag.

The D60 does, however, lack some of the features that give the more expensive brands their appeal, and high price tag. To start, it has less Megapixels, which is arguably a small detail. The D60 does not have dedicated controls for ISO or white balance. It is also lacking a number of focus points, compared to the D90 or D300.

For a beginner in the field the D60 has everything you need. The difference in quality between the D60 and it's higher level counterparts is only noticeable if you have already mastered the art of digital photography and would like to take it to the next level. I would not recommend a beginner purchase much higher than a D60, as it may just be a waste of valuable money that could be put towards a longer lens.

This pairing includes the Nikkor 55-200mm VR, an excellent starter telephoto for wildlife shooting, and a terrific all-around zoom lens for everyday photography.

This model has proven to me to be a tough and dependable camera, as I have dropped it on the ground and worst of all, fell in to a stream in Yosemite National Park with it around my neck. I dried the camera off and it worked like new.

My D60 is a stellar product - the Nikon image quality, VR lenses, and package is a fabulous setup. The D60 has a nice mix of automation and manual settings, and the PC integration is extremely easy to use. The package shipped quickly, the bag and extras are perfect, and it's a highly recommended setup for a digital SLR. I can't imagine a better one for the price.

I am really pleased with this package. I was a bit thrown off by the lack of reviews, but there is no reason to worry. Everything came a week early, well packed and exactly what was advertised. I couldn't be happier. If you want a D60 review check out other item listings for either the body or body and lens kits. This package contained exactly what I need to get started again. Coming from a 77' Minolta (and countless cybershots) this was a nice starter DSLR kit.

This was a very good deal on a great camera. Nice collection of worthwhile extras, and I Love the bag. Note that the ad says you get an extra EN-EL9 battery, but it is actually a DB-ENEL9 battery by CTA Digital Accessories. The Nikon version sells for $40-50, while the CTA version sells for $11 on Amazon. Fortunately the reviews are good for this battery, so hopefully it will be just as good as the Nikon version. I just think they should advertise it as such for full disclosure. If not for this, would have given 5 stars. Shipping was quick.

I've just received my package (shipped in one day after delivery!), without the 55-200mm lens though, called the custom service, they told me that the ups people screwed up the delivery. I could definitely see that coming, cuz when i got the package, the box seemed to be like smashed before, which concerned me a lot. However, the containing are perfect, protected. Still , I would recommend u choose better delivery service instead of ups ground to avoid this kind of situation in future..

Well, the camera was awesome!I'm a beginner, but I've used my friends' Canon slr before, d60 is lighter,smarter and cuter =) haven't practiced with the 55-200 lens yet, but everything is included in this box. The bag was a little bulky, yet it's nikon's and looks fine. Another thing is that I ordered this kit ended up getting a black gold special edition! I was super excited about that. Well, I will update when i got the second lens. The custom service people are very nice and efficient.

This is my first digital SLR. Having a good experience with 35mm Nikon SLR's in the past, this was a natural choice. So far I am very pleased with the camera. It allows me to use several manual options, while my wife can just shoot in the automatic mode with great results. I am even able to use the old F series lenses and flash... although not in the automatic or TTL modes. The Cameta outfit came with a nice bag, a high capacity SD card (probably won't need another one), spare battery (an essential), and telephoto lens. I've added the IR remote. This is an inexpensive amazing accessory to be used with self portraits and other tripod shots. I've also added a small camera bag to carry just the camera with one lens attached when I don't need all of the other stuff. So far I am very pleased with this purchase and camera. It can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. For the price, I don't think you can beat it.

Cameta Camera has moderate OK customer relations, but they sell a great camera package. My wife and I have been taking pictures non-stop with this camera and they all look great. We eventually purchased a book from here as well since the instruction manual is not so easy to follow. Now we are taking all kinds of great shots. People have asked us to do family portraits and next years Christmas card shots already. The accessories are very useful, especially the case, since it is a large but surprisingly light camera. The only reason I can see getting the D90 over this is if you want video, but I did not. The only negative I can think of is that the software it comes with is very weak. I know have it link up with Adobe photoshop and it is much faster and quicker. Use the SD card USB reader provided and picutres upload in a flash. If you are afraid to go bigtime with your camera, this is the one for you. It is ready to shoot on Auto mode right out of the box, so you can start taking amazing pictures right away.

the camera and accessories are brand new and in great shape...with all warranties,etc.

only thing i dont like is the camera carrying case...its unusually big ...which is not needed...the could have sent a perfect fit gadget big...but thats not a big issue anyways...
i would definately recommend this product.. cameta camera is just cool
