From the Back Cover

What Readers are Saying about Nikon D7000 Experience:

All You Need - This book, together with the manual that came with your camera, is all you need to start discovering the full potential of the D7000.
-Max

Very highly recommended - for experienced user and beginner alike. It's clear, concise and gets to the heart of the camera's multiple and often confusing options.
-G.S.A.

A well written, professional helpful guide -  exciting, clear to follow, had examples and was used by a professional who gave just the right amount of technical with explanations of why you use those settings, when to use those settings and so on, all properly explained. The book is a revelation, a joy to follow, well thought through and well written. Nikon should be employing Doug to write their cameras manuals!
-R.D.C.

It's the first guide I've read which has taken me through all the settings in an understandable way. I now feel that I have control over the camera.
-Peter

This manual is a clearly written, concise and useful explanation of the rationale for the seemingly infinite and often confusing settings options for the D7000. Used in conjunction with the Nikon manual I feel a bit more confident in understanding how to at last proceed in getting better photographs.
-
W.L.S.

I found the Nikon manual good for understanding how to set things up but not much on the why - this book really focuses on the WHY.
-Benoit

Really practical and tremendously helpful. Readers of this e-book can expect to benefit from a more rewarding photographic experience using this superb camera, and be better able to exploit its potential to match their personal objectives and photographic style. Highly recommended.
-M.M.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Value March 12, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I agree with the other reviewers who say that Nikon's manual provides the how and Doug's guide provides the why. If you want to understand the rationale around the endless choices for settings, get this guide. It's excellent value for the money. And the author is responsive. I asked for a modified version that would be easier to read on my iPhone and I had it in a day!

4.0 out of 5 stars BIG Help! March 9, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I ordered this book while waiting for my D7000 to come in stock. I read the ebook a couple weeks before I even got my D7000 and had a great understanding of the features and custom settings before it arrived. I received my camera, did a little shooting, re-read this ebook again and applied what I learned. It was simple to follow, easy to understand and worth every bit of the ten bucks. While you would think a book with no pictures can't teach you anything, it really did.

I was confident enough to lend my 23-year old son my new D7000 for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Marion Island in the South Indian Ocean. But only after he had read Doug Klosterman's guide, and safe in the knowledge that he would take a copy with him. It's clear, concise and gets to the heart of the camera's multiple and often confusing options. Very highly recommended - for experienced user and beginner alike. The official Nikon manual is very good on what to do, but not so clear on why. (Perhaps Nikon should just hire Doug to write their manuals - it would be so much simpler for all concerned!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Nikon D7000 Guide August 16, 2011
By Laura
Format:Kindle Edition
I purchased the e-book version of this book several months ago. I had just purchased a Nikon D7000 and needed more help than what the owner's manual could offer. Now I purchased a new computer and needed to get my e-book from one pc to my Mac, so I emailed the owner to ask about how I could get the ebook from my old pc to my new mac. Within minutes he replied with a new link to download an even newer version. I was thrilled with his service and now that I know more about my camera, I love my e-book even more. It is a great book to keep refreshing my mind with all the options of my camera and their uses. Right now I am studying spot metering and continuous servo - wow, great information. I think it'd be real handy to have this guide on a kindle if I had one. Then you'd have all that great information where ever you go!! Thanks for writing this great book -

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Helpful March 9, 2013
By DavidH
Format:Kindle Edition
The manual that comes with the camera tells you what each function does. This book tells you when and why you want to use it. I found it most helpful in learning my new camera. The author is obviously very knowledgeable about photography and the D7000 in particular. I highly recommend this book to anyone who just bought the camera or to those who have had it for awhile, but don't understand all the options and settings.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good resource February 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The D7000 is a tremendous camera with more features than I would probably ever figure out. The owner's manual explains how to use them with the assumption that you already are knowledgeable about those features. I was over my head and when I saw this guide, I decided to try it. I figured for Ten bucks, I couldn't do too badly. I was very pleasantly surprised by how well the book explained the camera's features. It made a huge difference in the learning curve for the D7000. I would definitely recommend this book to any D7000 owner. BTW, the author contacted me with his email in case I had any particular questions that I would like to ask about the camera. That's GREAT customer service.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ready, aim, fire! Klostermann's guide hits the mark! August 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Although I found "Mastering the Nikon D7000" by Darrell Young to be an excellent resource, at literally one inch in thickness, it is almost as daunting -- albeit far more lucid -- as the owner's manual. Being a slow reader and up in years, I bought Doug Klostermann's thinner e-book. Not nearly as useful as a doorstop, but much more comprehensible in terms of explaining the fundamentals of how the camera functions. Straightforward, eminently understandable step-by-step advice. Outstanding value! I recommend it highly, particularly to those who are D7000 newbies and/or are not all that tech-savvy. The D7000 has a gazillion features, many of which most amateurs, even experienced ones, may find confusing, if not utterly flummoxing. Klostermann helps "break through the noise," as it were, explaining what one needs to know to master the instrument, lest the camera itself end up as a (very expensive) doorstop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Experience! October 10, 2011
By Mr M
Format:Kindle Edition
After purchasing the D7000 DSLR earlier this year I spent some time poring over the Nikon User Guide. Some parts of the Guide are essential and repay careful reading. However, in general, Nikon describe the menus, options and settings in factual or technical terms. I struggled to work out how best to set up and operate the camera so as to take consistently good photographs.

Douglas Klostermann's eBook: Nikon D7000 Experience - was a revelation. Under his expert guidance the reader is swiftly eased through the camera set-up process, understanding at each stage the rationale for and implications of each setting. Two thirds of the easy-to-understand text is allocated to comprehensive coverage of how to operate the D7000 for picture-taking (and video). Really practical and tremendously helpful. Readers of this eBook can expect to benefit from a more rewarding photographic experience using this superb camera, and be better able to exploit its potential to match their personal objectives and photographic style. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's Okay
If you can put up with the manual I am not sure I'd bother, it's a tiny bit more readable but inserts opinion and agenda, but that is true of many model specific books.
