The Nikon D3000 is an incredible product and I would buy it again in a flash! But not from Cameta Camera. Buyers deciding between buying the parts of the bundle should be aware of exactly what the bundle contains.

The product title indicates "EN-EL9a Battery" is included. The product description indicates "All Brand New Items with all Manufacturer-supplied Accessories". The technical details say "Spare EN-EL9a High Capacity Lithium-Ion Battery Pack". "EN-EL9a" is a Nikon brand product code, and the product retails for $40+ on Amazon.com.

BUT...the actual product shipped by Cameta Camera is "ACD-273 REPLACEMENT FOR NIKON EN-EL9/EN-EL9a", an aftermarket battery valued at a small fraction of the Nikon battery.

I would never have purchased this bundle had I known it came with an aftermarket battery with far less value. In fact I reviewed the product information carefully and confirmed that it was a Nikon EN-EL9a battery before placing my order. Cameta offered a feeble refund of $3, which I rejected because it wasn't worth my time. Customer service was poor. I am regretful for ordering this bundle, as I could have gotten better value and better service by buying the Nikon D3000 elsewhere.

The camera bag is Nikon-branded and high quality. It is on the large side and more suitable for use with 2-3 lenses than with just one. I would recommend a smaller bag if you're just using one lens.

The DVDs are also Nikon-branded and they are great. These are a great way to get started and I recommend them highly. The cleaning kit is just a set of low-quality plastic pieces that I am not likely to use.

The Nikon D3000 is a great addition to the Nikon family. I bought this camera as a gift for my girlfriend who is really getting into photography. This was her first DSLR and she couldn't be more happy with it. The Guide function, which is new feature that debuted with this camera, is great. It really makes the transition from point and shoot to DSLR much smoother. The pictures look fantastic, even when viewing them full size on my computer they look nearly flawless.

Cameta Camera is a great seller as well. I am sometimes hesitant about going with 3rd party sellers, but they were great. First the package deals cant be beat, the whole kit for under 600 is a steal when you consider that most other retailers are charging $599 for the camera alone. It came with everything she needed which was great because she was able to start using it the day we got it in the mail. Shipping was fast, I got it in less than a week. I would highly recommend buying this camera and if you do, you cant go wrong with this seller.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this camera. I'm not disappointed in it. The photo quality is excellent. The automatic features are very handy and the manual override capability is very good. I have been a little discouraged by two things; one, the 'info' button is very close to the shutter-release button and several times I've pressed the wrong one and missed a shot, two, although the lens that came with the camera is very nice I will definitely need a more powerful zoom lens.
So, overall, I would recommend this camera. I will purchase the 200mm zoom lens and eventually get used to avoiding the 'info' button when I want to press the shutter-release.

After months of research I finally settled on the D3000 as my first DSLR. Next came the search for the best price.

As for the price the camera, lens and accessories included in the deal offered by Cameta Camera through Amazon can not be beat. With 8GB memory card, lens and gadget bag and extra battery the camera is ready to go right out of the box (after charging the battery, of course).

As for the camera I have been very happy. I have had a number of blurry shots but I truly believe that it is my lack of experience and not the camera. I am sure that the more I use the camera the better I will become.

Delivery time was great, my gadget bag was on back order and it still arrived within a week.

First, I have to say that I am an amateur photographer - just love taking pics of my kids, family and nice scenes. I don't need a lot of extras ... but have always been disappointed by slow shutter speed and, ultimately, missing "the" moment. (Espcially with kids!!) But I don't have that problem with this camera! Its fast, accurate, takes GREAT pics and I'm thrilled with the "guide" (very helpful!). As far as the purchase, the price was excellent and came with many extras (carry case, lens cleaner, extra battery, memory card ... and much more!) I'm very impressed and couldn't give this purchase a higher recommendation!

I've recently moved from slim digital camera world to DSLRs and the Nikon D3000 is a good first step. I like the battery life, picture quality and ease of use.

I bought this camera kit and I am so happy with it.
It is my first SLR Camera and it is really easy to handle with it. You don't have to know so much about it and with the easy "Guide-Feature" it is really easy to take wonderful pictures.
The first thing I really want to say is that the service was perfect. It was really fast by UPS. And when I opened the paket I was suprised what I got. In the paket was a 16GB Memory card for the camera and some other good stuff for it.
The camera is pretty light and feels really comfortable in your hand.
I could start pretty quick after I got the camera. I had to charge the batterie, but after one hour and forty minutes it was ready to take the first pictures, without being a professional.
I really would say that the Nikon D3000 is a good camera for all SLR-Beginners.

I just bought this package as my first SLR for a class I am taking. I did research and found this to be a good deal. It comes with everything to get started taking pictures immediately. The package includes an extra battery, battery charger and even an 8g memory card. I like the camera so far, takes nice pictures and is fun to use. Only small drawback is it does not have liveview so you must look through the view finder when taking the picture. Not an issue for me but worth mentioning.
If your in the market for an entry level SLR I would not hesitate to buy this package deal.

Okay, I am writing a reveiw, but I am not educated in the world of photography. We bought this camera because our 17 year old daughter has practically lived with any available camera in her hand for the past 4 years. She shows incredible talent in taking photos with the cheapo cameras and then she photoshops them to make breathtaking images! Spending the money on the Nikon was no hardship, this camera is her baby, she carries it everywhere and snaps photos like crazy. And WOW! The images are crisp, the details amazing. I do not regret spending the money to get the quality that we are seeing! For me it was an investment in my daughter and it has already paid off in her pleasure, and our joy in what she has photographed!

Nikon D3000 is a good entrance level camera, it doesnt dominate in its level, but it gives you what you can expect when stepping up to DSLR level.
