This review is not about the camera but about WHAT IS INCLUDED in this package.

I was very delighted to see that this package offers a lot more than costco package - extra battery, bigger memory, bonus accessory- and cheaper. However, BE AWARE, one of the lenses is NOT VR lens!!

In my opinion, mixing VR and non-VR lenses in one package is simply weird and misleading too.. I will have to return it and suffer the loss of two expensive shipping fees and trouble.

This camera takes excellent pictures and is easy to use if you are familiar with Nikon products. The hard copy camera instructions that came with the kit is thorough and clear. The D5000 kit with 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens is very versarile. The video campability of this camera is great and easy to use. The 8GB SDHC card that came in the kit holds more than 1500+ JPEG pictures on the Fine setting. Great Camera!

This product doesn't works properly, autofocus is not working, no stablity in the features. But very easy to handle the camera.

Great package, great price! Everything came as expected. Shipment arrived on time. Products work and look great. Now all that is needed is a college degree to get the professional pictures out of it. Many of the settings on the D-5000 do help to get great pictures. I bought this for my girlfriend for a Christmas present, she absolutely loved it. This kit comes with everything you need to start taking some great pictures! Do not hesitate to make the purchase!

This is an AMAZING camera. I am very impressed with how fast it was recieved and with the quality. It is exactly what I wanted. I have used Canon in the past, and I think I am going to actually like this better. The only compaint I have is that Canon seems a little more user friendly but considering its all I have used before that could be why. I am going to take some lessons on using this one and can't wait to see the outcome!!! As an amateru just shotting my kids right now, it is PERFECT!!!

This was a gift for my wife when she was getting into photography as a hobby. This camera has all the features of the higher end (and more expensive) DSLR cameras on the market. It has the same body as the Nikon D9000 which is a much more expensive camera. The camera takes excellent quality photos and even comes with a built-in flash that is good for typical indoor use. My wife has now become a professional photographer and still uses this camera on a daily basis.

I had the original Nikon digital D60 when it was first produced. I paid $1400 for the body and lens. The quality of photo was great, But it was stolen a few years later. I then bought another D60 for $1000 and was again quite satisfied. Because of the video capability I purchased this D5000 package for nearly half of my first purchase. This is truly a great package at a great price. If you are considering an SLR that you can grow into, go for the extra few hundred bucks. You won't regret it. My 20 year old son got my hand-me-down. He was the only guy who got an even better deal!

This camera is perfect. Kit comes with 2 lens. 18-55 is very good (VR modelo), but the second isn't.
Everything came ok, brandnew, and safety.
I bought separately a flash SB-800, and its great too.

U'll enjoy it a lot!

Just doing this cause I have time and want to better my Amazon recommendations I got the one at Costco so I don't know exactly what this one has but I love my D5000. Yes it has a lag when taking a shot and YEs when you use the live view mode it does drain A LOT of battery juice. but I love the rotating screen and the image clarity is amazing. I love my DSLR

I'm an amateur photographer and i'm still far from knowing all the features of this amazing camera. But i can say that it takes terrific pictures.

When it comes to price, this kit is very cheap. I've made the accounting of how much would cost to buy all the items and this kit is a GREAT DEAL!
