Not sure how much you can say here... It's a Nikon battery. I've bought off-brand batteries before and had bad luck. So, I won't do that again. Bought this one as a backup for my D5000. A backup battery, in my mind, is a must have item. I can't tell you how many times I've been taking photos and found the battery to be running low. With a backup, you just swap batteries and keep shooting. Got it fast, in good condition, free shipping and at a much better price than in store.

Received counterfeit battery from Ans Digital,

This review is from: Nikon En-EL9a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Retail Packaging) (Electronics)
Ordered this battery thinking I would get a good price on a second battery for my Nikon D5000. When I received it, I plugged it in to my charger, watched the charging light flash a few times, then blink off completely. Tried plugging it in a few times with the same result. Bought a new battery from a reputable source for a higher price, and all was well. Compared the packaging and the labeling between the batteries and noticed many differences between them. The main difference was that the real battery looked like "NIK0N" (an oval-like gray area in the "O"), whereas the counterfeit battery looked like "NIKON" (with a wider, and circular, grey area in the "O"). Sent the battery back to Amazon for a refund. Beware of the quality of battery you get from this seller.*Title edited to clarify seller

Ans Digital sells fake battery,
This review is from: Nikon En-EL9a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Retail Packaging) (Electronics)
Amazon should take some action against Ans Digital. I thought that Amazon's trusted sellers were supposed to meet some standards. The Nikon battery I received (EN-EL9a) was a fake -- it is easy to tell when you have an original Nikon battery to compare with. I also visited nikonusa.com to check if the battery's packaging had changed since it first came to market -- it had not.I might have been more understanding if this battery was being sold along with the rest of the non-Nikon branded batteries (which sell at much lower prices), but it is not. No one likes being cheated. Please do no buy this battery from Ans Digital hoping to get an original battery (i.e. a retail version). In fact, after this experience, I wouldn't buy anything from Ans Digital. I'm surprised to see only one other complaint against Ans Digital regarding this issue. Maybe people don't bother checking if the packaging looks similar, or maybe Ans Digital has only started selling this battery recently. How well does this battery work? I have no idea... I returned it immediately. The original works great.
