Would buy again,

Not sure how much you can say here... It's a Nikon battery. I've bought off-brand batteries before and had bad luck. So, I won't do that again. Bought this one as a backup for my D5000. A backup battery, in my mind, is a must have item. I can't tell you how many times I've been taking photos and found the battery to be running low. With a backup, you just swap batteries and keep shooting. Got it fast, in good condition, free shipping and at a much better price than in store.

Received counterfeit battery from Ans Digital,

This review is from: Nikon En-EL9a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Retail Packaging) (Electronics)
Ordered this battery thinking I would get a good price on a second battery for my Nikon D5000. When I received it, I plugged it in to my charger, watched the charging light flash a few times, then blink off completely. Tried plugging it in a few times with the same result. Bought a new battery from a reputable source for a higher price, and all was well. Compared the packaging and the labeling between the batteries and noticed many differences between them. The main difference was that the real battery looked like "NIK0N" (an oval-like gray area in the "O"), whereas the counterfeit battery looked like "NIKON" (with a wider, and circular, grey area in the "O"). Sent the battery back to Amazon for a refund. Beware of the quality of battery you get from this seller.

Ans Digital sells fake battery,
This review is from: Nikon En-EL9a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Retail Packaging) (Electronics)
Amazon should take some action against Ans Digital. I thought that Amazon's trusted sellers were supposed to meet some standards. The Nikon battery I received (EN-EL9a) was a fake -- it is easy to tell when you have an original Nikon battery to compare with. I also visited nikonusa.com to check if the battery's packaging had changed since it first came to market -- it had not.
I might have been more understanding if this battery was being sold along with the rest of the non-Nikon branded batteries (which sell at much lower prices), but it is not. No one likes being cheated. Please do no buy this battery from Ans Digital hoping to get an original battery (i.e. a retail version). In fact, after this experience, I wouldn't buy anything from Ans Digital. I'm surprised to see only one other complaint against Ans Digital regarding this issue. Maybe people don't bother checking if the packaging looks similar, or maybe Ans Digital has only started selling this battery recently. How well does this battery work? I have no idea... I returned it immediately. The original works great.

this is a review, however, the product i received from Amazon's legit partner was a counterfeit battery. So im reviewing the counterfeit battery since its "suppose" to be the correct item.
the battery is questionable depending on who you buy it from. I got a counterfeit one from one of amazon's partners. this shouldnt happen with an amazon partner, but i guess i did. someone people might complain that i shouldnt review the parnter, well im just reviewing the "alleged" product that they sent me. And the product they sent me is a fake nikon battery. Either the listing is wrong and forgot that its fake or someone is trying to shaft me on a fake product. printing is off, instruction manual is too big, packaging is TOO NICE, holograms dont match, and the sticker is off centered. all tell tale signs of a fake battery. this is a warning to people want to save a few bucks. spend the cash and buy it from Amazon itself and not its partner sellers. i got this from Ans Digital.

Just purchased my DSLR Nikon D5000; wanted a backup battery. The store offered them from $65-$90, this was a bargain at under $60. Glad to have found it.

Do Not Trust ANS Digital,

This review is from: Nikon En-EL9a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Retail Packaging) (Electronics)
I ordered the Nikon EN-EL9a and received an EN-EL9 from ANS. I wrote an email explaining I wanted what I ordered. They assured me it was the same battery and asked if it was ok to just keep it. Even if it is the same, that was not what I ordered. They told me that if I took my prior bad review down that they would refund me and let me keep the battery. I took it down and no refund after one month. Keep away. Shame on Amazon.

This battery is being used as an extra battery for my Nikon DSLR. It has worked in the way I need: power. I just went with the name brand because of the fear factor of third-party horror stories.

How to protect yourself against counterfeit products.,

This review is from: Nikon En-EL9a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Retail Packaging) (Electronics)
I received a Counterfeit Nikon EN-EL9a from seller Savings 365 on the Amazon marketplace. Here's a short video on how to identify if you received a genuine Nikon battery. I do not receive any promotional consideration from Nikon or any company. I just want to make sure that when photographers invest in their hobby or business they are given the product they have been advertised. Follow this link to see more ways to identify a conterfeit: [...] Thanks for watching, and keep shooting! R

Genuine Nikon battery - This one is not a counterfeit,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nikon En-EL9a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Retail Packaging) (Electronics)
Ignore the negative, "Hey, this is counterfeit" reviews here. In every single review, the reviewer did not order this particular battery - They ordered from other Amazon vendors and are writing a review on this one rather than the one they ordered. This battery is a genuine Nikon battery. It ships and is sold from Amazon.com. There are counterfeits out there that LOOK like genuine Nikon batteries, but are not. Amazon is aware of the problem and has published a short document which will show you how to identify counterfeits. I can verify that this particular battery is a genuine Nikon battery. Simply click on it on the right and read who ships and sells it - Amazon. Then, go back and read the negative reviews which should have been written on the other batteries from the other vendors. You will see what I mean. Also, avoid after-market, off-brand batteries in this line. I've previously owned three after-market batteries from three different manufacturers. The first after-market died during charging, emitting a nasty smell. The second from another manufacturer died a few months later inside my camera. It swelled up and I had to pry it out with a butter knife. The third after-market battery is still working, but doesn't hold a charge very long any longer, even though it has a higher mah rating. In this line of batteries, you get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and stick with a genuine Nikon battery.

"Nikon" battery from EWFocus,

I ordered this battery from EWFocus as a secondary battery for my D3000. The battery arrived and would not hold a charge--I even had it tested to see if it was any good. It was not. At closer inspection this battery seems to be a fake. The lettering of "Nikon" seems to be slightly off. Also, compared with the original Nikon battery that came with my camera, the "fake" is drastically lighter in weight. The color of the battery also seems to be off. The writing, that is suppose to be white, is slightly yellowed. Beware of buying from these guys...
