Having recntly purchased a Nikon P100 camera that uses a EN-EL5 battery, I wanted to purchase an additional battery to take on an upcoming trip to Russia. I was also looking for a quick charger to use in place of the method that Nikon provides on this camera (plug in a power supply into the camera to charge the battery in place). This package seemed too good to be true! It offered a spare battery, a rapid charger, a 12 volt adapter for the charger, and an adapter to use the rapid charger in Europe/Russia. Several reviews made comments about the battery not fitting and that the battery was smaller in rating than a Nikon. Still, for the price,it was hard to pass up.

Well, after receiving the battery, charger, adapters, and then using the charger to charge the battery, I proceeded to check out the new battery in my Nikon P100 with the following results:

First, the Nikon battery is rated at 3.7Volts and 1100 mAh - the replacement battery is rated at 3.7 Volts and 1300 mAh (that is a larger battery than the original battery!).

The original Nikon Battery was charged in place according to instructions and lasted for 350 pictures (mix of telephoto shots and close-up shots). The replacement battery lasted for 400 pictures of the same type of mix.

The replacement battery fits with no size issues in the Nikon P100 - by virtue of fit, you could not tell the difference between the batteries.

Second, the charger does feel like cheap plastic, but it works as advertised, does have an AC plug that retracts into itself, and does have LED indicators for charging (red) and charged (green).

The adapter for Europe/Russia is exactly the same one sold at our local luggage supply store for more than the entire cost of the battery kit!

The 12 volt adapter is short coil cord unit (stretches to about 3 feet) with a power indicator light (red led) on it. It works just fine, but is not very long (would work with most cars if you are careful).

Finally, the battery that was included in the package also comes with a terminl protector to prevent accidental discharge! This cap fits easily on the battery and ensures you do not wind up with a hot pocket if you are carrying change and your spare battery in the same pocket!

All in all, I highly recommend this combination for the Nikon P100.

I had just purchased a Nikon P100 and realized that with the amount of pictures I take, it's always good to have lots of memory cards -- and a spare battery. The camera charges the battery while IN the camera, making it a pain in the neck while it renders the camera not usable until the process is completed. This accessory bundle of an EN-el5 lithium-ion battery plus the battery charger with car adaptor was just the perfect answer! Not only did it fulfill all my needs, but at an inexpensive price. The battery alone at BestBuy was nearly $40. Now with my extra battery, I can be charging one on the wall or via my car while using the other one for photographs. And best of all, it arrived several days before I ever expected it! I've been very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone.

It's always a good idea to have extra batteries ready to go and with this bundle you can charge them up on the go with the car adapter. An absolute must for the Amateur as well as pro Photographer. After all, would you drive your car without a spare tire?

This bundle is ideal for this camera. It provides many options for recharging and is easily stored in a camera bag. The plug prongs fold into the wall charger, which is nice- no messy cords.

The Nikon Battery & Charger are a great buy! I always keep a 2nd battery fully charged and ready to go!! Dan Kohler

based on information provided about this product I ordered it. after giving this battery a full charge I put it in my bag & went out shooting.
when my primary battery was depleted & installed this one. after only 20-30 shots the battery went dead. it's true, you get what you pay for. I
highly recomend paying a litle more for a name brand battery with clearly stated performance expectations.

The charger is just fine . Gives a rather fast recharge. Battery ok , I do like the wasabi better , charge lasts a little longer but as batterys go this is ok.

Stupid me: I bought a replacement battery at the well-known batteries-only store, and it cost me $40. I should have come here first - I got an extra battery PLUS the charger I needed PLUS the car adapter! I was slightly suspicious it would work based on the very low cost, but it all works GREAT. If you need the charger and battery, skip the high-priced store and order this.

The battery charger works just as promised. I also no have the ability to charge at the house AND on the go. Very helpful when on vacations!

This combo makes juggling a camera and back-up battery (ies) much easier. The set is value priced and so far works without any problems.
