Nikon 2 Year Extended Service Coverages
Nikon sells Two Year Extended Service Coverages for most Coolpix and D-SLR cameras. ( Due to state law, Nikon ESCs are not sold in Florida, Virginia or Washington states.) These coverages extend your original Nikon warranty for two additional years. The ESC can be purchased ay time within the original one year Nikon Inc. warranty. The purchased ESC form must be completed and mailed in as indicated on the form and a copy of the form as well as the original proof of purchase should be kept for future reference. Contrary to what some of the forms indicate there is no "10 day" limit on mailing the ESC form. As long as the ESC is purchased and the form submitted within the first year the ESC will be valid.

It is always recommended that you retain your original sales receipt or copy of your credit card statement as proof of purchase.

Make sure you read the last line of the description because you have 10 days from the purchase of the camera to return warranty to Nikon! I received a camera as a gift and bought the warranty thinking the warranty started from the purchase date on the receipt. When I received the warranty, it stated that I had 10 days from camera purchase date to return the warranty for it to be effective. Only buy this when you buy a new camera at the same time.

I normally don't go for the extended warranties or service contracts but for the price it is cheap insurance. I have not used it but logic would indicate that an extended warranty offered by a reputable original equipment manufacturer would be superior to any third-party offering. I received the certificate in the mail within a few days of making the purchase and registered it on line with Nikon without issue.

This extended service coverage is AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED if not activated within 10 days of PURCHASE of coverage.

it's not valid. and the warrenty was purchased and recieved
after the 10days...good thing it was less than $10.00

The seller PhotoWorld shipped my extended warranty kit out right away and it arrived next day in the mail. It is well worth the $6.99 I paid for upping the 1 year to 3 total years. Photoworld and another seller (J&R) both stated you just need to purchase and register the extended warranty within the 1 year original warranty period.

Photoworld included this statement of 1 year from Nikon in the packet they sent me with a link showing that in the Nikon website [...] It was nice of them to include this to clear up everything. Now the warranty card states 10 days but according to Nikon that is not true. I will register mine this week and update if there are any issues.

Photoworld also included (with that letter and the Nikon extended warranty card to fill out) a cash register receipt as proof of extended warranty purchase.

Overall, you cannot go wrong getting an extra 2 years coverage for less than $7 shipped. Photoworld was a great seller, ships fast and answers questions quickly as well. I recommend them and of course Amazon.com for any purchases. I have never had an unresolved issue with Amazon.com EVER!

I purchased the extended coverage my my Nikon P700 Coolpix Camera which was sold by Best Price Audio and Video and fulfilled by Amazon. However when my camera was shipped the extended coverage was not included. Following several frustrating attempts with Amazon's online and customer service center the best they could offer was to refund my purchase and buy the coverage through another vendor (at a higher cost). However, after contacting BPAV directly they sent my extended warranty to me directly at no additional cost! I was very impressed with the willingness of BPAV to step up and address my problem. High praise for BPAV!

These guys helped me work out my situation with excellent customer service. (I failed to understand the submission timeline on the ESC for a Nikon new purchase.) They worked it out and it was all good. Highly recommended.

Nikon already gives you a 1yr warranty but u can never have too much warranty, especially a 2yr warranty for only $7. GREAT DEAL AND IT CAME QUICKLY IN THE MAIL!

With products gettting more complex and sophisticated, its really good to have this solid two year guarantee in handd. Nice policy.
