Does its job. Works great.

Just cannot figure out why it's so expensive. Maybe if it said Leica on it. But Nikon?

Seems that if Nikon truly cared about us, it would come standard with the lens.

after going through two 3rd party hoods that fell off the lens with the slightest bump, I ordered the real thing - it fits well and will do the proper job.

This lens, which by the way, is a great lens, is almost unfunctional without the lens hood, as are most if not all zoom telephoto lens. The only question I have is, why doesn't Nikon ship it's $1000.00 +- lens with this $15.00 part, instead of making us pay more than twice that to get it after the fact? I won't get into the whole time issue. Product: 4 stars. Intelligent packaging: 1 star.

I use this on my Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 lens. It's a tight fit and that is good. No worries about it falling off when the wind blows just right unlike another hood I have for a different lens.

It is bewildering to me that Nikon does not include a hood with the 80-200 lens, one of its flagship products. They include a case for the lens (that I will never use) but omit the totally necessary hood.

Thankfully you can buy a Nikon hood for your lens and this is the one to get. Fits perfectly, as it should, and does what it's supposed to do.
