5.0 out of 5 stars A Stunningly Good Point and Shoot Camera!, October 14, 2000

The Nikon Lite Touch is a classic camera, and a true steal at the current price (less than $30.00).

This camera is roughly comparable to the more popular Olympus Stylus and Stylus Epic camera, and is preferable to those (in my opinion) because of its wider angle lens (28mm).

The lens is very sharp, has great contrast, and is plenty bright. The controls are very simple, straightforward, and easy-to-use (although I tape the panorama control to avoid accidently switching to this mode).

I have shot thousands of shots with my Lite Touch and have never had a problem (mechanical or otherwise). The Lite Touch was a favorite among the photojournalists I used to work with and was a staff favorite at several local camera stores.

I highly recommend the Nikon Lite Touch to anyone looking for a versatile, high-quality, compact non-zoom camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little camera, January 14, 2002

I bought this camera 7 years ago, right before I got married. We were going to the Mountains for our honeymoon and wanted a reliable, small, easy-to-load camera. We also wanted a panoramic feature to be able to take photos of the exquisite scenery. This camera fit the bill wonderfully. It is super-easy and quick to load--always a plus. All of the features--timer, tripod mount, various flash options, macro capability--make it extremely versitile. Honestly, I haven't used the panoramic mode since my honeymoon. But I have put many, many rolls of film thru it over the past 7 years and all the photos turn out wonderfully. If there is one negative, it is the wide-angle lens the camera has. Sometimes, objects that'd be easy to shoot with a normal camera come out as little specks (imagine looking down at people from the top of a tall building: they're teeny tiny). Overall, however, it is superb.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking to buy my SECOND camera, December 10, 2001
This review is from: Nikon Lite Touch 35mm Camera (Electronics)
I bought a Lite Touch when it first came out 5 or 6 years ago - a lot of pros I work with also did so.

First it's a Nikon, second the lens and AF system is great and thirdly it is VERY pocketable.

(...)

I have been looking to buy a back-up camera NEW but it is near impossible to find. Mine is often used for "grip and grin" shots at work. (...)

If you want any excellent camera with a fairly fast lens - this is YOUR next pocket camera!
