Product Description

Product Description

The MONARCH 3 is now the single largest riflescope line in the Nikon family. With eight different magnifications and five different reticles available, there is a MONARCH 3 for every purpose. Nikon has placed smooth zoom control with magnification reference numbers viewable from the shooter's position and included a quick-focus eyepiece. Nikon's Ultra ClearCoat optical system is common in all MONARCH 3 riflescopes. It is engineered to provide the theoretical maximum light transmission a scope can deliver – up to 95% – for a clear and incredibly sharp sight picture between dawn and dusk. With spring-loaded instant zero-reset turrets, every MONARCH 3 offers an in-field advantage by allowing shooters to easily make adjustments on the fly. In addition to the enhanced ring spacing, the new MONARCH 3 is waterproof, fog proof and shockproof.

While I'm still dialing in the scope and haven't had the chance to use it at any range over 100 yards here's what I can tell you. The scope is bright and clear and the reticle is easy to see even in low light. I also have to commend Nikon for their SpotOn program/App. It's really nice being able to swap ammo and immediately know where the rounds should be hitting at what power the scope is on and the distance each hold point represents. As far as low light visibility goes I was able to see clear enough through the scope even after sunset to be able to see where the shots we impacting. The only cons I can think of are as follows. First, the lens covers that come with it are junk just throw them away and get some quality ones from somewhere else. Second, the instructions aren't really the best in the world but here's where the app shines. Although the instructions are in 16 different languages. Overall it is a good scope and I would give it 4.5 stars out of 5 if I could.

Great optic. Nikon makes great scopes at a reasonable price. Got this on a Savage 12 in .308. Keeps zero. Great finish. Just make sure you get good rings. You'll be keeping this one for a while.

Nikon Monarch continues to produce the best optics from a price to value ratio. The quality of the glass you get is worth more than than what you pay for.
