The New Nikon 7x50 OceanPro binocular is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for waterproof, shockproof, and fogproof performance. The binocular also incorporates a rubber-armored exterior that provides a nonslip grip and helps prevent sliding on the helm station or console, even in rough conditions. These features, together with tough, lightweight polycarbonate construction, make the OceanPro durable enough for everyday use in wet, rough environments common to ski boats, runabouts, fishing boats, and personal water craft.
This model incorporates an illuminated compass for easy direction finding and has a 7.2 degree real angle of view, which equates to a 50 degree apparent angle--true wide-angle performance. The field of view is 378 feet at 1,000 yards (38 feet at 100 yards). Fold-down rubber eyecups protect the eyes from bumps in rough water conditions and provide 22.7mm of eye relief to accommodate eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers alike.

The product differences between CF and IF is really hard to find. IF is individual focus. CF is great is the primary uses does not require corrective lenses. The IF is good for those who wear corrective lenses. The eyeglasses denoted on the Nikon site is indicative of soft compactable eyepieces. These allow a person who is wearing corrective eye glasses to get their eyes to the appropriate focal point.
Something smart that is not noted in the documentation. The low light compass illumination is red to lessen the white wash of a white light in the eye piece. - Really smart!
Great lenses, the compass is quite stable, the low light illumination is clever, the outside material is easy to grip in slipper situations, the padded (and floating) neck strap is very comfortable.
The height and width scales are clear and easy to use. The needed values required to gauge accurate heights and width make it very unlikely that that feature will ever be used. That being said, the scales are clear and available.
Here is the bad. The documentation is rock bottom bad. An insert instructing the customer to "go find some website that has better documentation than we do" would be more truthful. The documentation is polylinguistic but done with very poor methodology. They do not cover all the functionality referenced in forums and blogs. The pictures are not product specific so the customer is left with the idea that parts are missing from thier box. The documentation is just awful. That is the only reason I did not give this product a 5 out of 5 stars.
If the documentation at [...] or those included in the box were remotely usable I would have rated the product better. Product alone, 5 out of 5.
The OceanPro utilizes precision ground lenses with multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings to deliver superior brightness, enhanced resolution and critical high-contrast for low light and bad weather conditions. The large, 50mm objective lenses provide a 7.1mm exit pupil for maximum light gathering, while a diopter adjustment and large central focus knob make focus easy to achieve and maintain.

This is a really great product. The clarity is incredible and does not degrade in low light.The product differences between CF and IF is really hard to find. IF is individual focus. I got these for an upcoming boating trip. It is an all around good performer in daylight and lowlight conditions. You don't have to worry about precipitation, water spray or fogging.
