Very clear optics.

The reticle is fine enough for target shooting and the BDC reticle is really close.

Nikon did an excellent job with this one. The picture is clear, bells and whistles are straight forward, and the 9X zoom on this is so bitchin I can barely stand it. Get this scope for your 10/22. I put it on my Ruger 10/22 Takedown. I mounted it to the reciver with Weaver's 1" inch raised mounts. This makes it so that the scope is raised so that I can see my iron sights still clear as day. You will not be be disappointed.

I bought this for a customized 10-22 Varmint rifle. The light gathering ability is fantastic. After utilizing the SpotOn software from Nikon I learned how the recticle features work. Fantastically. I shot the High Velocity CCI as was designed for this scope.. works to produce 5/8" groups at 50 yards.. with very rapid reacquizition of target. Am now looking to replace several other scopes with Nikons as soon as possible.

Never did I think the scope would be this effective. i zero'ed it at 50 yds with regular old 22lr you buy in bulk (not match ammo, the cheap stuff). Shot a good group at fifty, took it out to 100yds, again, good group near the bullseye, same thing at 150yds. I bet with some CCI stingers or some other specialized 22lr ammo it would be alot better. I love this scope so much I bought my Dad one just like it. I can't say enough good things about this scope.

My favorite pair of binoculars are my 10x Nikon Prostaffs purchased over two years ago. I have been extremely happy with those, so I figured I can not go wrong with putting Prostaff optics atop my new rifle. This was mounted to a Savage 93R17. Now this may seem odd that I purchased this scope, primarily designed for a .22 rimfire on a much more accurate .17hmr, but the reason I purchased it is this is my primary squirrel hunting rifle. Most shots I take are around 50 yards, so the parallax setting of 50yds is more appropriate than the standard 100yrd parallax. This does not mean it is less accurate at 100yds. I can still put three shots in a 1" grouping relatively easy at 100yds when desired.

Now for the quality. I must say I am just as impressed with the quality of this scope as I was my binoculars. The overall weight and feel of the scope is extremely good, but more importantly the optics are pretty darn good. Considering the price point of this scope as being a nice step up from the standard cheap-o scope brands but not in league with high quality optics, the scope is impressive. I find it to be crystal clear up to 8x. At 9x the image is not unclear, but you do begin to see some purpling arounf the edge of dark edges backed by bright (e.g. sky).

This is my favorite optics on any of my rifles currently. A great deal.

I bought this to use on a Smith & Wesson 15-22 rifle. After receiving and installing it I went to the range to sight it in. It took less that 10 rounds to zero it in. Very easy to align and holds setting even with my quick-disconnect mounting. I currently use many Nikon camera lenses and can attest to the quality of their products and their customer support. I have no doubt that this scope will give me many years of service. I would highly recommend this scope to anyone wanting well made and reasonably priced optics for their firearm.
Amazon shipped this item very fast as usual (Thank You, Amazon Prime), was well packaged and adaquetly protected from damage.

The quality of this Nikon scope is excellent. I purchased one to use on a 10/22 Takedown model. The reason I'm leaving this review is to let people know that the rifle will not fit in it's bag with the scope attached. Can't hold that against the scope though! Still have to give it five stars due to it's value to quality ratio being off the charts.

Great scope, this is the second Nikon Prostaff BDC I own the other is mounted on my 870 for deer hunting. I love the BDC format it makes acquiring the target range easy.
