When used with the Coolpix 4500 digital camera, the SK-E900 allows the use of off-camera flash. Add up to five additional speedlights (SB-80DX, SB-50DX, SB-30, SB-28DZ, SB-28, SB-26, SB-25, SB-24, SB-22, or SB-22s). Camera meters the brightness of the subject and adjusts the output of the built-in and external flash automatically. Equipped with two sync flash terminals for additional multi-flash effects.

Product Description

The SK-E900 is an L-shaped bracket with a shoe to accept Nikon SB dedicated flashes. The short three-pin cable plugs into the bottom of the camera. Multi-flash sync terminal connector for external Nikon Speedlight SB-80DX, SB-50DX, SB-30, SB-28/28DX/26/25/24/22/22s.

If you are serious about digital photography and want excellent flash photos, this bracket is for you. That built in flash just doesn't do it. With this bracket, you can use a Nikon SB24.25,26, etc. flashes for much greater range and quality. This bracket fits great and is ver easy to hold. It makes a big difference in the quality of the photos. You will love it.Bob

I use the bracket to connect my Coolpix 995 with my Nikon SB-27 speedlight and it works quite well. Unlike other reviewers, I like the built in flash with the Coolpix, but since I already use this flash with my Nikon SLR, I wanted to be able to use it with my digital too. It works well and the bracket includes the Multi-Flash Adapter Cord, which you might not expect for this price. My only caveat in recommending this product is once mounted on a bracket with a flash, the Coolpix becomes a bit bulky. One of the features I like best about the Coolpix is that it is so compact and once you start adding all these different attachments obviously you start to lose that virtue. However, if you want to do serious flash photography with your Coolpix or you need to reduce the incidence of red-eye in your pictures, this bracket is the way to go.

This adpater enables you to put a REAL, full-sized Nikon flash on your Coolpix and get full-sized flash performance. The CoolPix has a flash trigger output dedicated for use with Nikon (or oteher brand) flashes and the bracket gives you a handle upon which you can mount both the camera and the flash. This product includes the Multi-Flash Adapter Cord for CoolPix to electronically connect the camera and flash.

HOWEVER, since the flash is realtively close to the side of the lens, this is only half-accomplished. Nevertheless, it is MUCH MUCH better than using the built-in flash on the Coolpix!
