Product Description

The popular Nikon Sportstar Binoculars are sleek, lightweight, compact roof prism binoculars that have taken on an eye-catching new design and a price that will surprise most everyone. This binocular utilizes multi-layered anti-reflective lens coatings to deliver optimum brightness, high contrast, true colors and viewing free from flare. Exceptionally close 9-foot minimum focus distance, light weight and trim ergonomic body design make it equally at home around the neck of a birder, in the pocket of a hiker, sporting spectator or theater-goer. II Is constructed with a tough, lightweight alloy body shell, and the binocular's charcoal colored body coating is rubberized to provide a sure grip.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My wife and I have used this model for several years now and they have held up to trips to the Atlantic shores, airshows and even the Colo. Rockies. We take them everywhere we go. They are light, small and have excellent optics. We ordered a more expensive pair for our son for Christmas and when they arrived I took them to the back door and carefully focused them before doing a side by side comparison to the Sportstars. The Sportstars were so decidedly better that I was amazed. They were sharper, brighter and more uniform over their entire viewing area. The "better" ones were bigger, bulkier and the image was not as crisp or bright. Both were 8x25. Detail was superior and maintained all the way to the edges with the Sportstars. Within the hour I ordered a second pair of Sportstars and re-packaged the more expensive ones for return. (Thanks Amazon for the simplified process!)
