Nikon has introduced a new Sky and Earth spotting scope that features several optical and ergonomic upgrades for the birder, outdoor enthusiast, naturalist or hunter.

Nikon’s new Sky and Earth 80 is a full-sized spotting scope, available in either straight or angled body versions, featuring an 80mm objective lens for maximum light transmission. The Sky and Earth 80 utilizes Nikon’s exclusive, selected lens and prism glass that is carefully cut, ground and polished, then treated with multiple layers of Nikon’s own proprietary antireflective lens coatings. This care results in maximum brightness and definition, true color rendition, and flare-free viewing.

The new Sky and Earth 80 is compatible with Nikon’s three different Sky and Earth Series eyepieces. These include a 20-60x zoom, a 33x wide angle, and a straight 27x. The varied power ranges and optical configurations allow users the flexibility of matching their magnification and field of view to the viewing situation.

An integral sliding sunshade helps keep glare off the objective lens on sunny days, and protects the lens from dust and rain during inclement weather. The Sky and Earth 80 is compatible with most common tripods. The straight bodied model can be purchased in an outfit that includes a SLIK full-sized tripod, a 20-60x zoom eyepiece, and a carrying case.
