5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the office!
Spicy (but not too spicy) and filling, these soup cups are a great addition to my work lunches. I just leave mine at the office, but if you do not have your own personal space just keep them in your trunk!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great tasting but does not "cook" properly
This soup tastes great and the price is not bad. But the contents of the soup do not fully "cook" when prepared as instructed (I have the same issue with a different Nile Spice soup). Even after letting the soup sit tightly covered for 10 minutes, about a third of the beans and 2/3 of the rice are still mostly hard (watch your teeth). I won't be ordering any Nile Spice...

5.0 out of 5 stars Nile soups great family treat anytime, September 15, 2009

I was searching for a soup that would give me high protein, low sodium, low fat, and high fiber. I found that this soup plus a couple other Nile soups were a match. I tried several plus the Red Beans and Rice. I liked them all. My children also tried them and they liked them as well. They'll eat the soup at night or for a snack instead of something sugary. It's a great win. Each of my children have a favorite so I signed up for the subscription plan for each variety. My favorite is the black bean. My oldest likes this one and the minestrone. I also get the lentel and split pea. All in all, I get what I want and my kids have found a healthy snack. And you can take them to work.

Okay, so it is high in sodium, so if that is your concern beware. Black bean is still #1 with me, but this is good for variety. Protein and fiber are high, and you can't beat the Amazon price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good convenient lunch, July 8, 2010

This is a really good and convenient lunch for work. It is quite healthy and has several nutritional components that are important to me; high in fiber, iron and protein while being low in fat and sugar. Other than being a bit high in sodium, this is an ideal lunch, it has great flavor and fills me up. For the price you can hardly beat it.

This is my favorite Nile Spice soup. It has a nice amount of spiciness and flavor. I let this one sit for 8-10 minutes to make sure the beans are soft. I have had RNY Bypass surgery and this is an excellent choice for protein at 10g and fiber 10g. If I am wanting even more spice I add a dash of Louisana Hot sauce!

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious, portable, great to keep in office, April 27, 2010

I keep at least one cup of this wonderful instant soup in my desk at all times, and find myself eating it frequently just because it tastes so good. I prefer to let it sit longer after adding boiling water than the instructions recommend for the beans to soften (15 minutes works for me) but it is worth the wait. I usually add a pat of butter and pieces of string cheese which melt to perfection. It makes a tasty and nourishing lunch, not too heavy. Also, very economical!

I'm so happy that we discovered Nile Spice soups. It's hard to imagine that a product this convenient can be so flavorful and healthy, but it sure is!

It's most important to remember that despite the directions on the packaging, I always let it "cook" for several minutes longer than suggested. If you are a soup lover, you will love this product. It's not overly spicy, but the flavor is great.

Hard to believe that soup in a cup would be tasty and healthy, but this one is both. I used to eat Nile Spice soups in DC where I bought them at my local store, but had a hard time finding them once Imoved to NYC. These are healthy, tasty and convenient. This flavor is SPICY, but very tasty.
