Vegan. Natural. Low calorie. Low fat. Thick & hearty for an instant soup. Great lentil veggie taste. Easy, lightweight take-along for anywhere you can get or make hot water. I love vegan soups. An instant soup along with a few pieces of crispbread in a ziplock bag makes a great lunch. Instant soups are also a great flavor maker for your own soup creations. Try using one cup of instant soup as a flavorful broth or base to add with beans and/or your favorite fresh veggies. Use your imagination and enjoy. Easy and fun. Prepare the instant soup and then add to the simmering or pre-cooked bigger pot containing the other ingredients. Heat together, stir, and serve. 170 calories, 11g protein, and 540mg sodium per cup. When preparing the cup of soup, it is important to let it stand re-covered as recommended for 5+ minutes and stir well. Verified all vegan ingredients including the 'natural flavors' with Nile Spice Consumer Affairs on 2009-01-29. I don't know why I like this stuff. I don't usually eat soup, and I have never asked for lentil soup in particular. But for some unknown reason, I once grabbed one of these at the grocery store and it was good. Nile Spice deserves a lot of credit for making something I will eat which does not involve cheese or sugar.

These are healthy and convenient soup-in-a-cups. Add hot water, stir, and wait five minutes. You get a tasty cup of soup for a good price. You get a good variety of spices, compared to other "soup-in-a-cup" products.

This is so good, good for you (exception: sodium content), and an excellent bargain at just under $14 for 12 cups. I will be ordering these again

I am stuck on Nile Spice soups for a fast easy to fix and delicious lunch
meal. I stock three different Niles Spice soups and use them at work for
a nutritious fiber filled meal.

I really like progresso brand lentil soup. This is nothing like progresso lentil soup. This is spicier and you can tell it's dehydrated. if you need to eat or like your food on the bland or non-spicy side_ you might want to skip this. It's convenient. It's got a good shelf life. It's good to keep in emergency kits or for quick snacks. Boil some water. Pour it in the cup. Stir. Wait 5 minutes. Yum. I would not want to pay more than $1.25 or $1.50 per cup. At $12 to $14 for 12 cups with free s/h it's a good deal. I would not pay the $18 it's selling for now. Like I said- this is ok- it's not great and it's a small serving. If you normally eat a 15-19 oz can of soup you'd need to eat 2 of these.

I have this soup, and the split pea soup ordered on subscribe and save. The split pea tastes slightly better, but this soup is healthier.

I would give both soups 5 stars if only the sodium content was less. Otherwise, given the amount of protein, fiber, and fat, you cannot ask for a better soup.

This soup is really good and fast and healthy. If you served it to someone in a bowl, they would never be able to tell that this is dehydrated soup. Very good rich flavor. I set up auto delivery on these. This is a fast vegetarian meal.

After adding the boiling water I find that allowing the soup to steep for 10 min instead of 5 provides - for me - a better texture. All of the Nile Spice offerings are a significant improvement over the Nutrisystem lunches - even without spice adjustments. And the cost savings.
