I'm running 2 amps into 1 set of speakers using this and it works perfectly.

My 12-gauge speaker wire is a bit of a tight fit into the back of the unit but it does what it is supposed to.

This product is built extremely well (steel enclosure) and of very high quality.

I am using it to switch between a tube amp and a solid state amp. I run the tubes when I am in the room really listening and save the tubes and run solid state when I have it on in the background. My 12-gauge speaker wire is a bit of a tight fit into the back of the unit but it does what it is supposed to.

This thing does exactly what I need it to do. I've got two amplifiers and one set of speakers. There's not much else to it other than hooking everything up and pressing the switch. It's pretty solidly built too.

I use two separate systems (speakers and amps) for my home theater audio and my recorded music. Until recently I was using one set of speakers for Home Theater (Klipsch) and another set for music (Martin Logan), powered by their own specialized amplifiers. I had always wished I could use BOTH sets of speakers for music without any rewiring. I felt I just wasn't getting my full money's worth out of what I had due to this limitation.

Enter the Niles Audio DPS-1 ! It is exactly what I needed and lets me power my Klipsch speakers with either my Harman Kardon Stereo amp or my Denon Surround receiver. Making the connections could not have been simpler although you are forced to use bare wire connections in and out of the Niles box.

Simply connect both amps that you wish to power the speakers with into the box, denoting one amp as "A" and the other as "B" and then connect the "common" output terminals to the speakers. The wires are secured by set screws which are easy to access and seem very solid once tightened. I have bad arthritis and had little trouble setting everything up. Then you just select between the two amps with a sturdy spring loaded button. I could not be simpler.

The build quality is very good on this box. Solid and pleasing to the eye as well. I could not hear any sonic anomalies introduced into the signal chain from the Niles. It seems totally transparent. Since it is a passive switcher there is no power required. Both of my amps are putting out no more than 150 Watts per side and that is within the published 350 Watt spec. As with most current home electronics this box is made in China but that does not seem to enter the equation as there is nothing cheap or shoddy in it's construction.

This product provided the solution to a big problem, how to run two systems with one pair of speakers. Only problem is that it only allows for one type of speaker wire connection, bare wire.

This amplifier switch enables multiplexing of two amplifiers to a single pair of speakers, and I suppose that it could be connected as well to switch one amplifier to two pairs of speakers. I have opened the enclosure to verify that it consists of merely a four-pole double-throw switch on a circuit board. Given the simplicity of the contained switch and circuit board, this device appears to be over priced. However, it would not be possible to build such a device oneself at much lower cost, and the end result would not be as compact and nicely finished. A minor complaint is that this device accepts up to 14-gauge wire, but not 12-gauge wire, which is why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5. In reality, however, this amplifier switch does what it claims to do, and does it well.

A nice product, small and light weight. I get some minor bleed coming thru if I don't cut the other amp way down. Great product but I don't know if the price is a little high.
